I'd rather they just ignored both of them and managed to make something as original as those two felt when they were released.

It would be nice to see a polished up version of both of them being released again though.

The sad thing is that they'll probably only sell 7 copies of the game anyway.

Colossus sold well didn't it? They published enough copies that time, unlike Ico.

Yeah it sold quite well IIRC. Ico didn't really sell well imo because there wasn't enough action, I loved it, but everyone I showed it to pretty much wasn't bothered. People I showed SotC to loved it though, I actually encouraged 2-3 people to get it rather than some EA filler crap.

But yeah, this and Littlebigplanet are pretty much the only reason i'm holding on to my blu-raystation 3.

Same for me, except add GT5 to that list.

i am with the "more Ico" fraction because Shadow of the Colossus simply didn't feature the magic of Ico and also couldn't engage me emotionally.

so when can we expect first footage of this?

Yeah, definitely the more Ico-like the better IMO. Not the same game or a se/pre/quel, but I personally didn't get on with SotC but loved Ico. I feel sorry for anyone who has dismissed Ico though, simply on the premise that it didn't have enough action - that game was beautiful art which deserved to be absorbed - it wasn't just a game, it was an experience!

I'm not sure, I loved both games but think I preferred SoTC. It was just sooo different. Not that Ico wasn't original, just thought SoTC was in a league of it's own.

But I'd like to see what else they have up there sleeve rather than a sequel type kinda thing.

Buy maybe a mix of the two would be nice, the exploration and puzzles of Ico and the huge monsters to take down of Shadow. Hmmmm.

I think SotC gets a lot of stick because, lets be honest, it was too much for the PS2 to handle. This is coming from somebody who adored the game, by the way (HD remake pl0x).

That said, I hope they do something unique again, while maintaining their amazing art style.

I wonder if it'll carry on in the same world as Ico and it's prequel? I really hope it does as I'd like to see more of Wander's other descendants and how they ended up evolving into Ico's tribe.

I'd like to keep it in the same world and maybe find out a bit more about the shadow spirits too. Surely Ico's tribe would have some sort of legends about Wander and how he became the first of their species to evolve horns?

Yeah, I think it's very likely their next game will be an original title set in the same world rather than a direct sequel. This could be the game that makes me buy a PS3...

I was put off Ico by the demo. It looked very nice and atmospheric and the mysterious story had me really interested but I can't stand having to solve puzzle after puzzle. I can just about manage it in Zelda but rarely in other games.

Wow. I'd say SotC engaged me more emotionally than Ico tbh, how many games instill a sense of regret when you kill something in them?
Don't get me wrong, I love Ico too, but it's a shame that it couldn't grab you in the way it has for many other people.

That, for me, was a negative. I wouldn't have killed those creatures. I didn't agree with the main character's motivations. So I could never allow myself to be immersed in the game and become the main character. I was just following instructions.

But wasn't his motive to kill the big dudes to waken up his girl and not let the shadow monster guys get her? That's motivation enough for me.

Slighty OT, but is there any chance that SOTC will get released on the PS3 as a download or whatever?

I never got around to completing it as my PS2 was on it's way out at the time.
