First I've heard of that - source?

Not sure what that would achieve, or why they'd do it.

      Or how, for that matter...

        Another forum. Heh.

It's a doddle to do as well, noone should have a final game at this point, all the DLC for this one has to be downloaded via an in-game interface (much like Dragon Age), so any DLC timestamped today isn't valid.

Sony have been ignoring pricing errors on the PSN for years now, if it was as simple as blocking out timestamped purchases then so many wouldn't be slipping through the net, what you've read is probably the work of some jealous crybaby who missed out.

The point is though, it's free DLC, why invalidate it? Why go to the effort?

I don't believe your source is correct anyway.

Even if it is, so what? We'll all just get it again free on friday anyway!

Oh and "nobody should have a final game at this point" yeah right, people on here will be playing this by tomorrow or wednesday, no doubt!

Thats just it though, even though its free you shouldnt be able to get all of it, because each piece is a different retailer exclusive. If they are invalidating the downloads it'll be to placate retail...

We'll see, I sincerely doubt they'll bother with it.

It's their fault, not the consumers, they have to take the hit...it's just good PR.

The links still work by the way, which I'd imagine would be the first port of call if they cared about stopping it.

Perhaps this DLC needs to activated in some way with the codes that are in the box?

Psst, we'd still like your source, or I would at least - just so that I can point and laugh at the individual who probably has absolutely no affiliation to Microsoft, EA or Bioware.

You enter the codes for the download link on marketplace, it's how it's worked with Microsoft content in the past.

I don't think they can invalidate it, when you do a license transfer it doesn't unregister the original machine, even if connects to live.

The DLC would will still be flagged with being valid on your machine's serial number. You could just use the DLC whilst not connected

Think about the times they've mispriced content and people have gotten lucky.

It's not like they stop the content working until the user agrees to pay the price difference.

It's their mistake and it's free content anyway, they won't (and I personally believe they can't) do anything about it.

Did you play Dragon Age on the 360? The codes weren't marketplace codes, they were EA store codes which were validated by EA's servers, which then kicked off the relevant marketplace download.

No idea why EA choose to do it that way, but it does give them some extra layers of control.

And as for source, it's just a dude on a forum. No one special. He's probably wrong, but hey, I thought I might raise it as a possible issue. Serves me right for trying to be nice.

Your good intentions were there I'm sure, but I'm afraid without providing a link then it's not far off pissing into the wind.

You could well be right, we could of just downloaded the data (via marketplace) which is the only way that MS allows content. But then the Cerberus network unlocks it.

I bet it ends up like that. I hope not
