The main choice at the end of the first game, i do wonder how that factors in with the sequel. It must hurt their brains just trying to comprehend all the outcomes and alternative choices and how they effect the rest of the series. It hurts my brain just thinking about it!

If you think that's bad, wait until Number 3.

Did you play Dragon Age on the 360? The codes weren't marketplace codes, they were EA store codes which were validated by EA's servers, which then kicked off the relevant marketplace download.

No idea why EA choose to do it that way, but it does give them some extra layers of control.

And as for source, it's just a dude on a forum. No one special. He's probably wrong, but hey, I thought I might raise it as a possible issue. Serves me right for trying to be nice.

We already have the relevant marketplace download though, going through EA's store only activated the link on marketplace in the first instance.

We have the physical data, it's up to MS to prevent it from working, not EA.

The Cerberus network is still more than likely just a pipeline to the Marketplace, maybe redressed.

I'd be willing to bet that people who have already now got the data on their HDD's, will probably be ok and it'll work. Could be wrong, but that's my guess.

... and I'm just hoping that language difference is due to the localised user and not the download itself being in a different language (there's rumours flying around that the downloads were Polish?!)

And now people on the Something Awful forums (via RLLMUK) are saying that all this mornings nabbed DLC works fine with copies they've got early from Walmart.

12 years as a coder in the games industry really ramps up your cynical streak...

I can think of a few ways they could block this if they wanted to. Some via title update on the game itself, others via the marketplace. Makes a nice theoretical exercise.

Whether they'll bother is another thing entirely.
