Bought that Datel Arcade stick that play.com were selling for £30.

I decided to modify it with Sanwa buttons and stick I had left over from an order over 5 years ago. Now I have a PS3/360 stick with sanwa parts, happy with the conversion too.

Buttons were smaller than the 30mm required for Sanwa parts, used a cone cutter to make it easier enlarging the holes. Took me 5 minutes, the holes are all equal and neat too. I used crimp lugs on the buttons so they can be easily removed for maintenance.

The PCB isn't brilliant, so I'm not entirely happy with how it was soldered. I might look into changing that. The connections for the stick have connectors on to pcb, for each direction seperately. So I grouped the commons up, I could have probably just left them disconnected, only using 1 of the commons.

The artwork on the stick isn't too good, I'm gonna look out for a decent method of customising it. Maybe some thin acrylic with artwork underneath.

I'll post some pictures later if anyone is interested.

Yeah, those are "way ****ing too much".

I'd rather get that Hori CP jobbie. Or a Net City.

This thing is a serious piece of kit

Ha! Those were the days...When I owned a SNES, I would've given anything for a Capcom Fighter Power Stick.

        (*sigh*)

Older models do, newer ones have Seimitsu LS-40's.
            Kept you waiting, huh?

Im thinking of replacing my hori RAP (ps2) stick for a madcats tournament one, i like the design a lot better, my hori one is enormous, also all the adapters are starting to get on my wick.

Just a question though, the ps3/360 madcats, can you usb them straight to your PC? cheers

^ I used my friend's PlayStation 3 Tournament Edition on his PC straight away. I imagine the 360 version will need drivers.

I tried my 360 TE in my Win7 laptop and it set it all up automatically. Very nice.

Yeah, Vista and 7 will have the drivers already installed.

It's already hit the UK dude.

I'd the original TE myself - better shell.

I went the other way - exchaned a round 2 for a TE S - I like the more conventional boxy look.

It's going to be a REz stick

Gorgeous choice of art. I've still not done anything about getting art sorted for mine... had the idea of stringing together some of the Ikaruga character art, but finding the time is a nightmare. I used to love mucking around in Photoshop but just don't find it as compelling as I used to.

Hi there Jutman here, I noticed this discussion and wanted to clear a couple of things up.

The Futari plexi was replaced before sending to customer (also, this has now since sold from VGI) I was under pressure to get some pictures out, and thats why you see the image you see. Updated pictures were on the cards but stick sold straight away thus no point.

The exposed screws is an option, believe it or not some people proffer the screws as is (I don't) . I am currently building 4 customs all of which are screwless in design .... keep checkin' on SRK over next few weeks.

Overlooking the plexi issue on the mushi stick ... saying they look cheaply made is, frankly an insult. I have sold many many customs over the years (direct and trade) and not once have I had an upset customer .... I must be doing something right with the consistency of work I get.

I hope the above did not come over to abrupt, the Deathsmiles stick IS still available @VGI, or if anyone wants something different please send me a PM or contact Lee @ VGI

                              Kind Thanks,

                              Jutman

I think they're fab. I was going to buy the Ketsui one but decided to go for a design of my own choosing in the end (based on the movie poster for Vertigo, my fave film ). Will post some pics when I get it though Jutman might beat me to that
