This is a good place to read up about what you need to do and what parts are the most ideal for easy modding.

Oh yeah, the glue on the connector!

I just used a sharp knife to cut through the glue and remove the connector. You'll see what I mean when you're looking at it.

Ok i want to mod a DC stick so i can use it on a PS2 to play my Neo ports.

Ive done the plate for the top, but im not sure about the stick and buttons. What have you guys who have modded a DC stick used.

Also anything to be careful of when hacking a PS2 pad to fit inside the case?

        cheers

I just finished my DC stick mod, it uses an early mayflash PCB so I can use it on PS2/PS3/PC.

For the stick I chose an LS-56 because it required not much modification to the shell. Buttons are regular sanwa snap ins.

Cant seem to find anywhere that has the LS-56 apart from lizard lick in the US. Is there much difference with the LS 32?

              Not sure, don't think so.

You can get them from Gremlin Solutions.

Just means that they have to import them from Japan.

I think they're fundamentally the same stick but the LS-56 may have a longer shaft IIRC. I used an LS-56-01 in my HRAP1b as the mounting arrangement prevented use of an LS-32 and the former was long enough to fit properly. I'm not sure if what applies to the LS-56-01 applies to the LS-56 though.

The "-01" just means that it's got a PCB instead of just microswitches.

                          Anyone own an X-Arcade stick?
I'm thinking of getting one and a small PC for running Mame in my games room, any opinions on this would be welcome.
As would how you think Mame would look on a 40inch Sony LCD TV, would the best way to hook up the PC be DVI to HDMI?

                            Arent X-Arcade sticks pretty pricey??

Surely the best option is either a PS3 Street Fighter TE or Virtua Stick High Grade??

They are a bit pricey yeah but I like the look of them and the Tank edition has a trackball for Missile Command! My all time favourite game.

                                X-Arcade suck, basically.

PS3 TE are like £80 new.
