Everybody else is doing it at the moment and it was one of the reasons that Sony claimed the Cell was designed to decode/encode in real time as well as it does.

My money is on PlayStation Cloud as I'm sure they'll be wanting to get their announcement out of the way before the inevitable throng of other companies announcing their versions of the same service.

I too am sick of an announcement to say there's another announcement coming. It's pathetic. It can only be justified, imo, it's a really important announcement.

PScloud may be a good call John, though we're all ****ed if gaming moves that way.

PS3 pricecut would be my bet, but it better be a good one - like £149 good to justify the announcement for an announcement bull****. And that's not very likely. £199 would be a start.

I'm not so sure that they'd announce PSCloud the day after registering it, surely that means they'll have nothing at all to announce at the moment apart from it's something they're working on?

I wouldn't be surprised to see it being a new exclusive game, it was only a couple of months ago that Shuhei Yoshida said...

I think if they're trying to make such an event of the announcement then i would need to be a game that was previously an exclusive on another platform really.

I was also thinking that it could well be PSP related due to the imminent DSi release over here and the announcement coming for SCEE rather than any of the other regions.

The other guess was NetFlix due to the recent surveys NetFlix did asking people if they wanted a PS3 version but it's unlikely that would be a SCEE announcement due to the fact that Europe is at the arse end of digital film distribution.

That's just reminded me of something, I wonder if it's going to be the Music Store as that was due to start in the first quarter in and only in SCEE territories at first. That would obviously require new firmware just like the Movie Store did in the US & Japan and what is it we know we are getting in April?

Arnt ps2s cheap as chips anyway these days? pre owned at least? Perhaps if its world wide it might make picking up an japanese ps2 easier i guess *shrugs*
