Stolen from NeoGAF (complete with inditements on the US education system and bits that make little sense)

Okay, so we all know after Crackdown 1 we defeated all 3 of the gangs, and we were congratulated. "Peace at Last" it said. It couldn't have been more wrong. As the Agency took over, things went to hell. A new zombie-like virus had broken out in parts of the city, and the Agency was doing a poor job at covering it up. People found out, got sick of the Agency's bull****, and revolted. The civilian gang called themselves the Cell, and soon after the revolted, they destroyed the agent program, almost completely crippling the Agency. But now, they've fixed it, and it's time you take the city back in a 3 way war.

-Dynamic Civilian Events (Example: A man trying to sell something in the day, getting marauded in the night. And the Agency will put up signs saying "play dead when you see an Infected")

-Support Points are gone, Agents can now call in for ammo and supplies anytime and anywhere.

-The game looks much more detailed and grittier, but still keeps the "cartoony" look we all love so very much.

-Vehicles like Trucks or Buses have room for a mounted turret, which makes them great for getting around in Co-Op.

-More variations in weapons, meaning people have more to choose from than just the homing rocket launcher.

-Most of the civilian cars in the game are the same, but reskinned and armed with armor and weapons to survive in the new hazards of city life.

-The Cell (a gang) is composed of ordinary citizens just wanting to reclaim the city from your team (the good guys). You take them out, and reclaim their turn for the Agency.

-More instances where Co-Op play is prudent.

-The city hasn't changed in architect, all the roads are the same. Some buildings have been demolished and other small things, but over all it's the same city.

-You'll obtain skill orbs by using abilities relevant to your character.

    -Four player Co-Op

-16 player Competitive Multiplayer. Tons of fun. Players collect special weapons, bonuses, and gadgets. Progression system like CoD4.

-Melee attacks are much more varied a fluid.

-Key to the City DLC is a go!

-The freaks evolve over time, making them MUCH more fearsome as the game progresses.

-All repetitiveness is completely removed. And less ****ty boss battles.

-Doing missions in the day or night has a huge effect. At night, the freaks come out to play.

-City decays over time from the infection.

-New Agency helicopter and other vehicles. All old Agency vehicles returning.

-A lot more weapon variety. New powerful shotgun, Rail Gun, and sticky grenades.

-More precise targeting system. Skill is rewarded.

-Much more defining detail in all aspects of the game.

More crackdown? A better implemented coop?

      Yes please.

A bit disappointed actually. It sounds like it might look a bit drab, and I'm not too sure about the infected/zombies/monsters.

I've had enough of zombies but will give this the benefit of the doubt as Crackdown is still for me the pinnacle of gaming on this generation.

Uh, one thing there especially makes me <facepalm>; spoiler if anyone actually cares about the first game's story (I actually liked the 'twist' at the end, myself)

you're, um, not the good guys in Crackdown, given your boss took over the Agency and ran it into the ground in order for things to get so bad people would cheer a psychopathic genetically engineered monster blowing up half the city in order to take down the gangs.

I loved the first game, but I could see this going horribly wrong. Eh, either way I sold my 360, so I shan't be playing it any time soon!

I'm feeling scared by just how wrong they can get this.

I don't want a skill based aiming sytem, I want tolock on and kill someone whilist fliying through the air having bailed from a flaming vehicle, rolling then throwing a skip at someone 40 metres away.

The bit that concerns me the most is about it being the same city. Everyone explored the **** out of Pacific City during the first one when looking for Orbs - who in their right mind wants to go over every inch of it again in a sequel?!

I hope they've got some tricks up their sleeve because if this is true then it's going to be on the back foot right away and feel like little more than an overdue (and probably expensive) expansion pack.

Yeh thats very strange, I absolutely adore Crackdown but I even felt a bit let down there reading that. I will be following this closely.

Very disappointed, reading that. Echo the earlier comment, poor sounding storyline/premise and the same city?

Went back and finished the original game this summer, after playing inFamous on the PS3. A lovelly orginal game, although it grated a bit in places as an SP experience. Even so something made me go back to it after two years.

if its crap, and it may well be, dont buy it and play the first game

                      which is still fantastic

I really want this game to be as good as the first, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned.

This has the possibilty of being a game of the generation, but it also has the possiblity of being the biggest let down of the generation.

I hope they've enhanced/expanded how far you can upgrade them.

I've been playing a lot of prototype lately and a double jump/air dash would be quite nice in crackdown. Wall-running would ruin the challenge of the orbs but would maybe be a nice feature for keys to the city.

I am kinda dissapointed that it's the same city with some changes, while it means I'll know my way around from day one I was pretty much hoping for a new locale to explore and get used to.

It has returned! Seeing those orbs puts me into orb hunter mode.

                              It's a shame we're revisiting old ground.

I just hope they fixed the controls.
