Yep, that would have made me happy. Using more of the 360's power for more particles and bigger explosions, new city, improved control, better camera, some better AI.

I fail to see the point in it without a new city. Surely it's just a patch!!

Clearly, it's still Crackdown, and it's still going to be about fun and messing around. Roll on 2010.
      Hehe that looks fun

I'm a little more positive about it again, the only thing about it that worries me is that they miss the point of what made crackdown so great.
Same here, I'm actually quite positive about it having now seen the footage and my scepticism has started to melt.

Game is shaping up to have potential and I'm cautiously optimistic they can pull it off.

The fact that you can tether stuff together and slingshot it could have real co-op potential

This is where the game starts to look interesting for me.

that is far cooler than that spazzy zombie thing they spent 10mins on the other day

              Those gas canisters look brilliant!

now thats the sort of stuff that makes crackdown what it is, lovely stuff.

Whilst I remain sceptical about the game itself, you can't deny that the city looks much cleaner and smoother even if it has lost a little bit of the unique visual style the original game has.

                  The draw distance is fantastic!

To this day, Crackdown remains one of the few Xbox 360 exclusives games I miss playing.

                    That looks fantastic.

Is it just me, but the city doesn't look the same. Stuff might be generally in the same place, but the buildings are different, aren't they?

Like GTA3 to GTA4, both are set in Liberty City and the main locations have the same names, but the feel of the cities are different.

                      They are different.

Rather unhelpfully he didn't bother to link to parts 1,2 and 3 of that walkthrough. In one of those the guy doing the talking explains they've altered a lot of the buildings that stood there before.

They've gotten creative so that the topography / look isn't exactly the same.

I've gone from complete lack of interest to being curious about this again.

If I recall the first Crackdown had a chequered dev process and only came together coherently very late on.

They're also saying the visuals are about 60% done there so it has a long way to go yet (even though it looks quite good already)

Well that's fine then. The original city had pretty much everything that you expect to find in a city, so a completely new one would just move around the locations rather than bring anything really new.

Yet to see the vids, will check them out this evening

There seems to be quite a few videos out now, here's the search results on YouTube and GameTrailers.

I appreciate that I only posted two videos instead of all of them but as was clear in the posts, the first was posted to show one of the concerns I had (had not has) for the game and the second was posted to show that than it's no longer a concern and that the buildings are quite clearly not just re-skinned and it's probably better to describe them and possibly the islands as the now popular re-imagined or remixed.

Also, the daisy chained car bridge thing looks bloody amazing and deserves to be posted in it's own right as far as I'm concerned!

I appreciate that perhaps not posting each of the available videos to make a very small point which was made by just a few seconds of the original one I posted could have been seen as unhelpful in making that point but as has been pointed out to me, if it wasn't me who had not posted all of them then it wouldn't have been mentioned by Jamie.

I've been asked by Charles on several occasions to not respond when Jamie repeatedly does this stuff but I do feel that on this occasion that I would like to apologise to people who do feel that I was trying to be unhelpful to them in some way rather than just leaving to it Charles to have to deal with yet again.

I know lots have people have been involved in the past which includes both members & staff concerning what Jamie has attempted to do many occasions in the past, I thank you all for that but I do ask you all now to please not get involved again!

I've explained myself politely here and it's become very easy for me to ignore these things so I ask people to please do the same.
