There's a number of things in that last image that concern me greatly.

Getting buttraped by one of the naked zombies from the end of the original resident evil?

The fun of crackdown was leaping around, not being on a turret with a zombie jumping at you.

I'm all kinds of worried about this now.

          Thing is they can't win.

Make it more of the same an people will just go "it's just more of the same! That's pants!"

Try and make it different and people will just go "they've made it different! That's pants!" (like they're doing now)

My own misgivings aside I'm glad they're trying a different tact - whether it will work or not is another thing, but I give them credit for having a go.

Not from me! I'd happily pay for some DLC that just has another 500 orbs lol and some more fun achievements to go for.

It's the same city with mutant freaks attacking you. You were the hunter in the first game, now it looks like you are defending yourself with turrets? Just doesn't sound fun to me, does the same thing a load of other games do.

If they were gonna go this tact then they should have made a new city too.

Hopefully reusing Pacific City will mean they can concentrate on giving us new cool things to play with, rather than spending all their time building a new city from scratch.

Also, that's a truck with a turret mounted on the back of it in the last pic. There's no way that's not going to be completely brilliant.

Really looking forward to this, the first one is still one of my favourite games and I'm thinking about playing through in co-op again.

As has been mentioned though, what ever they do with it they're on very dangerous ground as they run the risk of spoiling I if they change parts of it. Looking at those shots has left me nervous though as the environment looks very similar to the first game and I think I prefer the less detailed look of the first game.

Won't really know anything until I've had a play on the demo though so I'm willing to give them the chance to get it right first.

                  The same city?

Wow. Publishers are really getting lazy aren't they! "Chuck in a few new character models, a few new weapons. Oh, and mark everything 'darker', yeah that'll sell it - sequels have to be 'darker' these days right? OK great. Yeah, of course it's be full retail price."

I was looking forward to it, but I see no point in running around the same world I have sat on my shelf.

After the break! The first is off-screen footage of deathmatch from TGS, and the second is a full ten minutes of co-op.…

a 10m vid of gameplay here, have to say it has an air of not looking that good.

I still count Crackdown as one of my fave games this generation, not sure this is shaping up as the sequel it deserves.

Now I'm seeing footage of this, I'm not sure I'm going to bother getting it. I'm really not feeling revisiting the same location.

I could not be more flacid.

                          Oh very dear indeed.

That wasn't as bad as I was expecting after Reading all these comments. It still looks like crackdown and you can leap around just as crazily as ever.
I'm a little more positive about it again, the only thing about it that worries me is that they miss the point of what made crackdown so great.

Worrying, there's still time to get it right though...hopefully.

What's worrying me more from the videos is that apart from the worse looking characters, the buildings are pretty close to being just re-skinned versions of the original buildings as you can see from this one.

Maybe I just wasn't expecting much but I would have been more than happy with pretty much the same game in a different city with improved controls and camera.

Those so far unimpressed may find this video (from the 4:30 mark, and then bear with him a couple of minutes later as they have to reset the demo) more encouraging:

Clearly, it's still Crackdown, and it's still going to be about fun and messing around. Roll on 2010.
