I was never under the impression the skate board bit was anything bu the artwork version of face mapping. Did cage think it was implying that it suggested you could show it an object and ut would appear on screen in a fully virtual playable form?

Well cage does after all "know what's feasible and what's not."
Funny thing is it's no different than scanning your face and putting it on a character.
Wonder if Quantic Dream have a natal dev kit...hmmm.

Not sure what Cage is on about there.

I've seen undergrad projects that create accurate 3D images of buildings from just a small handful of photos from non-specific angles so scanning a skateboard's artwork seems rather simple by comparison.

Hey I don't want to have to have a real skateboard to play on one in game

I think he was questioning that MS were implying any object recognition, after a scan the software would automatically know what the object is and how it should behave, definitely not feasible. Whilst its fine to have a few objects that it could it recognise MS were giving the impression any object could be.

I thought that was just demonstrating the stills camera mode, not object recognition.

From the above, that's how it sounds to me.

All a matter of perception I guess. Knowing that detecting an object was a skateboard and making it into one in a game was impossible I assumed that it was scanning the decals on the deck. Average consumer might not assume the same as me though.

A spanish website claims that the processor is back

Also made it clear that Natal has its own processor, which would be valid for all versions of the Xbox 360 in the market, and as for the controversy of space for play and exercise, with a distance of six feet would be sufficient to detect all movements of the body.

Some final(?) shots of the Hardware and installation guide for the XDK

Looks much smaller than I was expecting, for some reason I thought it was like 2 feet long!

Also it has a motorised base, I wonder if that is to help tracking or just to adjust it more easily?

External power..... I hope that doesn't make it to retail.

                          External power?!

I agree, I really hope that is not part of the retail bundle.

I think I'd take external power over having to use two usb ports.

I'm guessing they are trying to make it so you can keep it tidy in the rear USB

I read the feature in EDGE about Playstation Move which still came across as a repeat of the Wii but it was heartening to read about the market their going to be chasing with it even if the controls for SOCOM 4 sound horrid. It referred to Natal at several points and it'd be good to see a practical hands on feature of that too as it still seems to be nice tech but essential unpractical enough to end up not being worth using
