The format common donominator is always the game design basis so nothing will use the GPS for anything critical to a game. The problem with GPS Near item dropping as well as it could theoretically mean players leave items anywhere which with fewer users having the 3G model means items will be concentrated at wi-fi areas anyway. I'd say the decider has to be whether the GPS functionality appeals to you purely for its uses as GPS rather than anything else. If not buy a wi-fi and a game. Hell, if they did make a GPS focused game it probably wouldn't be till after a hardware revision anyway

Apart from Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Japanese version that made use of the GPS.
Oh and Everybody's Golf in Japan had a version that offered GPS.
I'm going 3G because just *in case* someone makes a game that has an extra feature using GPS, then I want that feature.

I went 3G also but that was down to the normal argument that I was gonna buy wipeout anyway!

There is already Monster Radar, which is 3G-only.
            Kept you waiting, huh?

It isn't a game, more a mapping app, and it only works in Japan. It was available for PSP also. The Vita version has AR functions.

I'm just using it as an example as I think it wise to buy the 3G version just to be future-proofed.

Used to be but I think it will probably depend how much shopto pay for the service, sounds like they are sending them the top way

DPD delivered two Hori RAP's to me in seperate orders. In both cases I received a text and email stating a one hour delivery slot, and both times they arrived about ten minutes after the given time was due to start.

My console should be shipping today. Can today just go away please and can it be tomorrow already? Should have went with ShopTo, but got a great deal elsewhere.

I get alot of deliveries from DPD at work one of our suppliers use them. Always really good with delivery time estimates.

I think he knows there will probably be a price drop before the end of the year, but it was pretty much inevitable anywway, as long as we get compensated I'm not too bothered.
And how much of a price drop are we expecting? 50% like with the 3DS? Wouldn't hold my breath. A Handheld like this with the technology that it has inside it can't sell for MUCH less or Sony will be selling at a loss. I was originally hoping for a price drop myself, hoping that it would repeat the 3DS's launch "success" but now I'm looking at this realistically.

Any possible price drop will be small, and launch day bundles which are effectively giving away free games and memory cards will probably cancel out any future reduction. Let's not forget that the Vita has been available in Japan for a good few months now and as far as I'm aware there hasn't even been a murmur of one yet. Let's also think back to the PS3's western launch and how ****ting expensive that was and how many units were shifted. How long into its life did it get a price drop? I think it probably took the first hardware revision which took away functionality for a SMALL reduction.
