Exactly, i'm not criticizing the system itself. But rather its support and possible future. Another thing that struck me as weird was Sony deciding to release an Ice White PSP just now, while I feel they need to push the Vita.

The launch was good, although there was no true killer app.

But the launch has been some time ago by now, and beyond Gravity Rush i've no idea what to look out for. Sure, there's E3.

Joe: The Ps3 is a ****ty BR player, media player and internet device in general. I use stand alone devices for all that stuff. My Ps3 is solely being used for gaming. I wish the next gen consoles can play and encode all video formats amongst other things, and have an extra input jacks as well. I could ditch my media player and BR player for that.

They need to sort it out asap, i love the vita, and still play some launch games, when i play virtua tennis, it shows how close to the ps3 it can get, as well as Fifa that dosent look far off, but we all knew nintendo would turn it around with Mario Kart and MArio 3d Land, and with paper mario to come, its always going to sell, once mario hit the system, but have sony got any killer franchises for it, im not so sure.

The PS3 is a great blu-ray player WTF you on about SG? Also plays all my music, shows all my photos and streams all the movies I have on my Linkstations, handles my freeview and has netflix and Lovefilm. How is that ****ty? It's bloody brilliant.

Netflix is not available over here. Same goes for Lovefilm I think. See, another sucky thing when it comes to present day consoles; regions. The difference between a US based Xbox and one over here is even bigger in terms of services.

For streaming you still need a PC, I can do it directly to my Panny if I wanted that. I'd rather use a media player for it, supports all formats, subs, NTFS 2tb HDD etc..

As for regular BR movie playback, my stand alone (also a Sony) simply kills my Ps3 in terms of speed, low noise, controls etc. It acts as a HD sound receiver as well.

Resistance is bloody ?40 on the uk store, what a joke no ones going to buy it at that price, when the US versions is ?24 roughly, and they also have a demo of it to see if they like it or not, im beginning to wish id locked to my vita to my US account, what a farce all round.

Well yeah, the PS3 isn't going to be best at everything. But the point is it does do pretty much everything and it does it pretty well. I don''t need a PC for streaming, I have a 1TB NAS with a media server built in.

                > Its not like the 3DS had a killer app , in fact bar Tetris on the GBA, RR on the PSP I can't even think of a Handheld having a true killer App for launch and imo Games like Everybody's Golf and Uncharted are more than enough reasons to get a Vita at its launch

What the hell. The PS3 is a fabulous BR player and where unlike some early stand alone players can be updated through firmware and streaming wise its a much better console than the 360 too

not sure what some of you guys are smoking, but personally, i think there is a lack of software for the vita - I'm still playing launch games, but only just. Yes its great if you have just bought one, but 4 months later, very little is appearing

the online store is now becoming boring as hell - with a drip feed of new stuff appearing on an ad-hoc basis, same old stuff for sale - motorstorm RC, escape plan etc etc. - unless you what to re-buy a load of psp games

Same goes for retail games - its now bare bones, when walking into a shop, with the same old same old. Seems to be going the same way as the 3ds

I really am wondering what they are playing at? Do they want the unit to succeed/make money?

Why is this - are sony making it difficult for people to get games published? Is it too costly? are there very few developers on board? I'm confused -

dont get me wrong - its a lovely bit of kit

Nothing to do with smoking and everything to do with being fair . I can't think of any console that's ever been launched that didn't have issues with not much to buy a few months after launch, why people expected it to be any different with the Vita I just do not know more so in the summer/spring period

I agree the store support for new content like demo's and games is piss poor and this is an area that SONY needs to sort out and where there's no excuses

Disgaea 3 and Mortal Kombat both came out over the past few weeks and Resistance and Gravity Rush are up next. What we don't need is a wash of shovel ware covering the hidden gems. In fact, in retrospect I think the Vita launched with too many titles and over saturated the market for the early adopters. They should have held back 4 or 5 big titles and really pushed those that they released for launch far harder.

Woah ive totally missed Disgaea 3! gdi.... Disgaea, Resistance and Gravity rush ouch.

Just tried the Gravity Rush demo and, man, that's one short demo. It feels like the beginning of the tutorial and little else so doesn't give me much of an impression of what the game is like when it gets going. Still, it shows a lot of potential and looks great.

The game that had me thinking i'd be gagging to buy another Vita, Resistance, seems to getting a fair old kicking in the review stakes.
