At the end of the day motion controls on console and touch controls on mobile, with 59p casual games making people gazillionaires are a serious threat to my type of gaming. When Sony delivers a mobile device with controls and graphical grunt as top priority, the I'm ALL IN! If we dont support 3ds and vita we have nothing but angry birds type games to look forwards to on the mobile front. (plus retro on devices like pandora)

I see why people are getting hot under the collar, but I think that is fine as it shows people still give a ****.

      This. Five times this.

It's good that we're bothered and that we're in.
We're frustrated that Sony are seemingly morons who don't know how to look after their new baby.
Let's stay committed, stay bothered and keep on playing

Hopefully this won't bring about resistance-esque laziness in other developers. The hardware is fine, but it needs to be utilized PROPERLY or the future of gaming really is going to end up becoming Angry Birds. Sheep will continue to barf up money for their favourite houses, even if their latest creation is an abortion and this is a practice which needs to end.

Hurrah!!! Yes. I'm still amazed people play games on phones. Every experience I've had has been garbage (please don't see this as a chance to point out some amazing game I've missed in iphone). I'm getting a Vita shortly, just need to decide on new or used.

For me the difference is that it will cost me ?300 to play versions of games that are often available on other platforms in better form at a much lower price.

Haven't bought one, can't be arsed. I want to want one, but when I'm playing Wipeout AGAIN, Everybodys Golf AGAIN, a cut down never supposed to exist but canon shoehorned in by different developer so they can have a big name on launch Uncharted... I just can't see anything to make me step up from my go.

Gravity Daze looks fun, but gone are the days I buy a console for one game. With nothing on the horizon for me, it's a shame. Hopefully in future when the decent titles start building up.

As for the likes of Ouenden, had I more income to spare on gaming I might be tempted to dip my toe in, but until that time, my hard earned reddies go on games I know I'll enjoy, as I'm no doubt sure a similar situation can be said for you.
I misread your post where you said there have been 14 Final Fantasy's. I read it as if 14 came out you'd pick it up in a heartbeat.
                Kept you waiting, huh?

Nowt wrong in that Martin, but on the other hand did you buy any Mario Kart games post the SFC version?

Anyone else want this one? I think I've hit my limit for tonight

Well after having to go through nine posts with you seeking an explanation only to be told that you had accidently removed a game from a list, which was the basis for our entire epic, I've grown a little weary.

I did indeed Daryl but nowadays money is much tighter and frankly the Vita is not a purchase I am prepared to make. As other have said, it is a fine piece of kit but the games are not worth anywhere near the asking money for me.

I picked up a 3DS for several reasons. Firstly I wanted to finally finish Ocarina of Time and the 3DS houses the best version. Also the console was a limited edition Zelda machine and it only cost me ?169 new. Also I picked up Ridge Racer 3D, a criminal game for ?40 but it cost me a tenner new. I can justify purchases like this.

The Vita on the other hand is expensive to buy without games then you are looking at high prices for games that I don't think are that great. Sure Wipeout and Ridge Racer are fine titles but I have better versions of the series on other machines which makes these titles worth no more than ?10 of my money.
To me the machine feels like a more powerful PSP but I don't need a more powerful PSP.

Really? I thought the entire basis for the argument was that I didn't totally and utterly adore the Vita as you do

But Mario Kart and Mario platform games in general just have some sort of thing going around them. They're evergreens. Mario Kart 3DS is a really fun handheld game. Much more so than the offline only, and lifeless looking MNR. And perhaps Wipeout, although I like it a lot, its a gritty hardcore game thats not as much pick up and play fun in multiplayer.

Nintendo just knows how to make dedicated handheld games and how to rule that industry. Its not like Nintendo gives their premier IPs to B-devs for handheld development. The Mario Galaxies are considered to be the best game of this generation, and those guys made 3D Land as well.

Sony would show the same dedication to the handheld market if they let Naughty Dog develop their Vita Uncharted game, but they don't. In the same way they also refuse to let their premier studios work on Move software, a peripheral that also went kind of tucked away by Sony after it failed to make a dent. Their support with both products is a bit like 'we'll just see where it goes and work from there'.

Sony's handheld games are rarely as excellent as their console games and this must be part of the reason why.

The basis was that you were saying there are no original games, which was a bad thing, although this doesn't apply to other consoles that are not Vita because there are compelling reasons to play them. I then listed six original titles following your request (after a previous five), only be told that because they are Japanese titles they don't count. Even though you had already "allowed" Sumioni (which is actually out in the USA). I figured with you being hardcore and all, that wouldn't matter.

On top of that you didn't even give me the cookies you promised.

There are indeed original games on Vita. You just don't know about them it would seem.

Another important point about Nintendo is that they let their IPs breathe. Whenever a new Mario Kart or Donkey Kong comes around, it's been so long since the last time that we're all dying to play it again. Not so with Uncharted or Resistance.
