The 3ds did have its problems at first but a least it was supported well by the people that make games.
Did anyone pay attention to e3?

YEs saw this last week in a Game shop, had to double-double check the price.

The 32GB cards are ?55 new in Grainger Games, ffs is it hard to look around other shops To find the best price. I'm not having a pop at anyone but why does only the very top prices ever get displayed, yes it's ?80 RRP for a 32GB vita memory card but only a complete plank would hand over that for it, hell I got mine for ?42.99 new it's not hard to find 30-40% cheaper than RRP

I love the Vita, as it genuinely seems to be a core gamer device. My pet hates are:

          - loading times
          - price of memory cards
          - painful data management
          - battery life
          - bit concerned the visuals won't be quite ps3 standard
          - No UMD transfer

          My loves are

          + OLED screen
          + dual sticks for fps
          + Back touch
+ seems powerful so gen2 games might amaze
+ Good value (apart from memory)

I think a lot of things will be fixed in software, and just hope it gets supported by publishers of first party nature.

Even now there are some good gems to play, just maybe not system sellers yet. Gravity Daze demo wasn't my cuppa, but might be a big hit for others.

I won't be selling my Vita, that's for sure!

I'm getting one because even the backlog of PSP games is incredible. I only actually want Wipeout, Unit 13 and Super Stardust right now but that demon's souls lookalike I'm well up for when it comes out!

The Vita hating in this thread is fully justified simply due to the price of the machine and the memory.

As much as I want to side with you on this one, J0e, I really can't.

The system has precious little going for it currently with games. I DESPERATELY want something for it that's original and not a port or re-release. I actually quite enjoyed GR's demo but it's the only game which appears as even a blip on my radar for the rest of the year Vita wise as it stands. As much as whatshisname admitting that failing to show any new games for Vita was foolish is commendable, it reeks of stalling for time.

If we don't see any solid Vita announcements at TGS what then?

And the fact that precious few developers seem happy to back it.

The shock is in the RRP as much as the fact GAME are selling at RRP, and encouraging pre-orders at that price. Then, of course, there is the general h'amaze at Sony's memory card prices.

I doubt anyone would defend those prices as reasonable compared to other memory card formats, and even at ?40 I'd feel a little ripped off. Which is suprising more than anything else, you'd think they would be more competitive to encourage more digital game downloads.

Any negativity is your own reading of it, but GAME are selling the 32GB card at ?80, simple statement of fact.

If we don't at TGS it's probably done unless it becomes a dapper wii-u style pack in ps4 controller

I think the Vita complaints are legit. Its not that I hate the device, its in fact the first handheld I really see as worthwhile. I am usually not really into handheld gaming. I won't part with mine.

Its just that I can't imagine Sony keeping up support for this. The E3 is something big, and not placing your latest system, being only 3 months old in the west, in the limelight is really bad news for both gamers and retailers. Its a vote of no confidence in my book. TGS I'm not too keen on as well, its Japan where the Vita is doing extremely bad. Most low budget stuff continues to appear on PSP as well. We know, from Ex Troopers, that Capcom gave the Vita the finger.

But its not all doom and gloom. I bought Gravity Rush today and its completely awesome. Best game on the Vita yet and likely its first true killer app (although not many will care, sadly).

Could not agree more, fantastic machine and I appreciate I'm in the minority but things can only improve and if not, we both don't regret buying our machines. (My son and I)

Uncharted, Everybody's golf, Rayman, Resistance, lumines, The list is endless, how many bloody games can one play and finish in a normal month ??

The list isn't endless though that's the problem and its not really going to increase much over the next few months. The games you mention are mainly launch games,; essentially console franchises and as a near day 1 owner, I'm now bored with them. These are my personal opinions before anyone throws a wobbly.

Gravity Daze is not a port or re-release.
MinGol 6 is not a port or re-release.
Resistance: Burning Skies is not a port or re-release.
Ridge Racer is not a port or re-release.
Sumioni is not a port or re-release.
Uncharted is not a port or re-release.
Wipeout 2048 is not a port or re-release.
Unit 13 is not a port or re-release.
The numerous PSN titles are not ports or re-releases.

I can't be bothered to write port or re-release anymore.

Most Xbox 360 and PS3 titles have a number after them nowadays, so surely they are also ports and re-releases. What's different with Vita?

Not quite. And paying full whack for games like resistance only encourages developers to knock out sloppy seconds unworthy of such a high price tag.
