The ones I've removed are just new iterations of a now tired series. Nothing original about Golf, Wipeout or Ridge Racer for example. I've played better versions of each on older systems.

Now let's see if you can impress with a similar list of games due out before year's end. You may have a cookie for each that doesn't appear on another console.

Go and look at the 3ds thread on here for comments made at the same period after the 3ds launch:

Complaints about battery life, when will there be a game out that I actually want rather than N64 ports, the store is slow, I just bought a PSP Go so now my 3ds is seeing even less use, the 3d makes my eyes go funny so I've had to turn it off, the only game I'm looking forward to is Mario Kart 7, runmors of developers jumping ship, complaints that it has no killer app and comparisons to Virtual boy.

I'm still at this stage with my 3DS. What do I do to get past it?

What's original about Uncharted 32, or Gears of War 47? I don't see anybody moaning about lack of originality there. What's the difference here?

Because they are entries into a story driven series. It's not that it's a lack of originality per se, but there's enough of a compelling reason to play through them. You're driven by something that isn't a high score table.

Are you seriously suggesting that it's fine to play Resistance 3, but not Resistance: Burning Skies? That is how I'm reading it.
