Ken Kutaragi was at the conference. I wondered if he was there to deliver the 'get a second job to pay for it' announcement!

EDIT: The piracy problems of the original PSP doesn't seem to have put developers off this new system

I'm thinking/fearing the persistent 3G connection will effectively impose some form of regional locking if SCE tie in sole network providers for the device (nothing announced as yet) , hopefully there is an accessible SIM slot somewhere on it.

I don't need one, I'll hardly ever user it but I know I'm down for day 1.

The new console/tech buying habit dies hard, reckon I'll still be doing this when I'm 60.

Dude you seem to be living in la la land.

Even with Sony taking a MASSIVE hit on it, it won't be under ?300, even that will probably be wishful thinking. I'll come out and say it's a ?400 gadget, easily.

Thats what im worried about. If it's over £249.99 which going by all the tech it should be then il give it a miss until the price comes down or quite a few must buys appear.

Sony will have my cash when it's like this.
Buy for example Joe Danger, the PSN DL has PS3/NGP cross compatibilty (like PSP remote play) transfer from PS3 to NGP, out you go, can earn trophies on the go, come home dock it onto ps3/sync, pick up pad and start where you left off.
Looks like they are kind of hinting at this happening in some form.

Which will still be the formats undoing if it is. The PSP has had to be aggressive with price drops due to the mistake of launching so high whereas Nintendo has technically raised the DS's price over the years and won the market. Sony need a new tactic.

                        Excuse me?!

                        Edit-Wait a sec, wait a sec.
earlier in this thread I said.....

                        Absolutely no chance.

NOW let me get this straight, you didn't follow that up. So are you saying it will be more than £300? Cause that's what I was saying also as people seemed to think it would be less and there is NO chance of that at current spec. All I was saying to Crazytaxinext was don't let Sony hear your willing to spend £350-£400 on a handheld.
                        Further edit-
I see you said £380, missed that. I will stick by £299.99

After playing Ridge Racers for five years before picking up another game I'll be firmly standing behind my 'total value of must-have games must be greater than price of console' theory before getting one this time.

Theoretically I should still be waiting to buy a PSP1 considering I've only played two games on it, despite owning a jpn. unit from launch week.

                              I hate lifestyle ads

On reflection... the PS3/NGP cloud sharing feature, I get it for PSN titles but for retail games like the MGS that Kojima mentioned, how will that work? You can transfer you're save data and continue but what about the game data? If I have MGS on a blu-ray how does that help me with the NGP? We can't data transfer the entire game to NGP and no-ones going to buy a PS3 and NGP version of the same game. Are they going to do pack ins with both versions? It's got so many questions the feature might end up being pointless.

On the flip side, the analogues (though the left one is still in the wrong position) look like a big improvement on the PSP1's. Though Sony launches are universally awful, I'll be very cash flow up by Xmas so I'd be up for Day 1 though personally, I reckon this will only be out in PAL markets March 2012 at the earliest. The Fall 2011 launch will be for Japan and maybe the US.

Very happy its not a slider.

The GO plays like crap, especially the shoulder buttons. Its all too cramped.

The regular PSP plays best, if it weren't for the crappy analogue. Thats fixed now it seems, and they added another one. Add up an even bigger screen and a rounder design and i'm pretty much sold.

I don't expect this one to be cheap. But Sony isn't a brand that launches cheap products, they are always somewhat on top of mid-range, close to high end. Its against their name.

Expect cheaper PSP2's with 3G subscriptions perhaps?
