For me, I've never played Ridge religiously with the idea of shaving ms off my lap time and didn't love any of the tracks themselves in the way I love SR's Desert course, say. If I actually played Ridge more, maybe I'd find particular tracks I just loved to race around.
@ Shakey: Internet seems to think the RR games on PSP were 60fps but I never felt that when playing RR1 and thought it was 30fps.

I remember reading about the original going up on the store but never saw the sequel announced. Now I need a JP PSN card so I can play this on my Go (or for Namco to publish it on the UK store << I managed to type that out without bursting out laughing). It's the one game I've missed when my PSP 2000 went into storage.

We shouldn't really write it off yet. Perhaps the five cars are one of each style, and then you select which type you want as in Ridge Racer Revolution, with cars getting faster as you progress. TBH in the more recent games most of the cars are just reskins anyway. If you play RR properly you can't even see your car on-screen, so it matters not what it looks like. The same thing might be said of the courses, where there are different hidrances depeding on what difficulty you're on. Once somebody has played it, then we can attack it.Kept you waiting, huh?

we'll have to see what dlc comes out, and perhaps (hopefully) some will be included by the time it releases in the west.

Funnily enough, I just got RR2 on me PSP, lol. Sadly, it's much worse than Daytona etc because of the price attached to it. Should have been a PSN/Vita combi release for roughly ?6. The DLC will see the overall price skyrocket just to get anywhere near the content levels of previous releases even without new tracks. For the main RR series it's now a case of waiting to see if the WiiU gets one.

UC3 was a disaster for me and put me right off the franchise - I really couldnt take another one anytime soon (especially if they use the same aiming system as UC3).Last edited by dvdx2; 24-11-2011, 13:48.

As for Ridge Racer, you'd almost think it must have been translated wrong or it was just a demo, but then it sounds like they didn't have much time. It sounds like it won't have enough tracks for a career mode and so won't add one no matter how much DLC you DL.Last edited by Party boy; 24-11-2011, 14:16.

good point, i was thinking that myself - how can you release a game with 3 tracks in this day and age?

Game is being released for a lower price of ?3,980 retail (around ?33). ?3,580 digital (around ?29) although the digital version is on offer until March 31st priced at ?2,980 (around ?24), article said.
"One of the tradeoffs for the low price appears to be content. The sites report that the event build had just five cars and three courses, and this will be true for the final version as well."
The reason behind 3 tracks and low starting price will be to sell Paid DLC for the game.
Then again there was an earlier leak saying there would be free DLC from December-April, so maybe course and cars will be free and they have just rushed it for launch.
