As long as it's gory like the original US release I'll be a happy bunny.

I never played through the Wii version because as with most Wii game the constant stupid waggling of the wiimote gave me chronic migraine & motion sickness.

Sorry if this has been covered, but has the Japanese version been confirmed to have English language at all?

Everything I've seen on the topic is only rumour talk, sadly. I've got a copy of the 360 one coming but it's shipping at the same time as SSFIV and Ketsui, so won't have it for a week or two to confirm.

Cut'n pasted from GameFaqs, and for once he actually sounds articulate!

For No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise on the PlayStation 3, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "2 hours into the game, impressions...".

This is from X360 version but they should be identical to PS3:

It's very import friendly because all options are in english, you get to choose JPN or ENG voice with JPN subtitles on/off. You can't have subtitles when you choose JPN voice for some strange reason.

Only tutorials, mission/job and item descriptions are in JPN text. Your stats, item names, save system are all 100% in english, so it makes very import friendly.

The visuals look fantastic and the gore and blood look more realistic now without the pixelization. The occasional blood splash on the camera looks great but can be irritating because enemies leaves a sea of blood everytime they die. Also the most striking difference that occurred me was how great sound is when you go from DolbyPLII-->Dolby Digital. It sounds much better and cleaner now, it's like going from SD-->HD. So visuals aren't the only thing that have been upgraded.

The controls are responsive and the transition from Wii too xbox360 work very well. If you are like me and hate motion controllers and find it hard to use this is a relief. Because dodging and switching stances are much easier now. The right stick will be your "finisher", so you will use it a lot to recharge battery and counter and execute enemies etc...

Two new things I noticed in the hotel room, was the new "armchair" function which allows you replay all cutscenes and re-fight any boss you defeated. Other than that the interface have been improved. They have replaced the N64 with a Sega Genesis, for obvious reasons...

When you are in the town you can bring up a GPS map of santa monica, which makes traveling very fast and efficient. You can also summon your bike by calling from your cell-phone, if you lose it somehow.

All lip-sync is made to JPN voices, so if you choose ENG voice it doesn't look right when they talk to each other. Will post more if I discover anything new...

One last thing I wanted to mention is that the game loses the charm when it makes homage to old games. It felt right on the Wii with it's dated graphics but on X360 it sort of feels awkward. But hey that's just me!

            Thanks very much englishbob!

I was going to order it anyway but if I couldn't hear Sylvia's voice I was going to be sad.

Anyone know of a reasonably priced place to import the PS3 version?

Any word on the Xbox 360 version being region free?

In the GameFAQs post the guy suggests he is playing the Xbox 360 version and its import friendly because it has English voices. Sadly he doesn't mention if he has a Japanese console.

I read a few threads saying no Multiregion for the Xbox 360, kind of a bad decision especially if there is no US/EU publisher found.

It just doesn't seem to bother Japanese publishers to make them region free on the 360, even when there is absolutely no chance the title will be picked up by Western companies for distribution. Makes absolutely no business sense whatsoever if you ask me. I always take it that they don't want to sell additional, legitimate copies of their software.

With regards to the PS3 version, without English subtitles I would rather wait until a more domestic release.

Patch due out some time in May, no details yet what exactly is fixed but Marvelous did say 'it will improve stability'.
May have Trophy patch too also as two of them don't unlock on PS3.

When they make games region free, don't they still have to submit them to each territory's QA department? If that's the case, I imagine that'd be a reason for them not to bother going region free. I might be getting it confused with something else, though.

Here's some comparison shots from Japanese site showing the differences between the two versions. There's some obvious removal of gore in the PS3 as well as a few other graphical differences between the two versions.

I am not sure they do, as its often undocumented feature.
