Ok, I havent shed any tears when playing, but I think that the story line in Mafia on the PC was excellent, predictable but touching never the less.

tears in my eyes at the end of disc one of ff7 and a little emotional when it came to redXIII (nanaki, for the anal) discovering what happened to his popps!

It seems ff7 is the clear winner though how does it do it so well ?

Lactose Intollerant - Suikoden II - Gorudo's castle near the end.

You bastard! I spent hours levelling that character up! Oh and yeah they were pretty 8) too.
You could revive this person if you got all the stars of destiny 8)

112 - I definatley agree, with you on shenmue 2 disc 4! i was so sad when the game ended cos i jus didnt wanna let go.
I know what you mean, even though the last chapter could take well over an hour with little gameplay involved, it just left me sad that it was all over. I have a save for the beggining of the last chapter because it's so brilliant I'm gonna play through that soon. Might be good news on Shenmue 3; they recently (august 20th) updated the Shenmue trademark and it seems as though they are preparing the official site somehow with the new design and moving servers etc. Plus it was rumoured there would be an announcement made in September Fingers crossed.

Spatial101 - Ada Wong's rather nasty death in Resident Evil 2

            Felt sorry for poor Leon

Awww, he really loved her you know
She didn't die. Play through Claire's B scenario and at the end she helps claire defeat the tyrant. Plus I think she was mentioned in Weskers Report II that she was hired by wesker and she is now infected with the same virus as him making her superhuman (like wesker in code veronica) deeeeep

that woman you mention in Claire B's scenario is a mystery woman and is not proven to be Ada Wong.

Yes, but if you play through Resi 3 enough times you'll get to see Ada's Epilogue, which shows that she didn't die.

                  Not an original selection, but...

FF VII choked me up at different points. Can't remember when exactly 'cos my memory's going with old age... but I do remember it being the first game that drew me in to the characters enough to feel emotional responses when things happened to them.

And the end of Zelda OoT too. I remember being just gutted when the end credits rolled.

Nothing since really. Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Sunshine made me laugh at different points. Maybe it's just 'cos I only have a GC this generation + play Nintendo games that are bright and cheery..? And the fact that I gave up on Wind Waker when I had to start sailing around collecting different items (can't remember exactly what - it's my memory again...)

I think the music in videogames is sometime really stirring but I have never cried. I remember being sad at the end of Super Shinobi on the megadrive when his girlfriend dies and that sad music plays.

I think the music in games would hold a lot of memories for all of us becasue when I hear music from a game i played when I was younger it reminds me of being so. Magical Shower on Outrun?the music from Space Harrier? great tracks.

Ikaruga made me laugh when i was expecting a C rank at the end of level 3, but it ranked me as a "Dot Eater" because I kept getting shot!

I remeber playing one shooter on the megadrive that when playing the final boss would cause me to have this huge adrenaline rush and make my heart race. It was really exciting.

In general I think videogaming is an emotional experience, I dont think we would all be here if when we played games we felt nothing.

Plugging Zelda DX into by Game Boy Colour and hearing the theme music for the first time. There was a tear in my eye.

I had the 'End of Disc One' event spoiled for me in FFVII, but I did feel a twinge about Red's father. Though the whole Locke/Celes thing in FFVI was miles better.

And funniest game ever? Giants, surely.

I can only agree with a lot of the ones that've been said. Ones that were nicely emotional: Shenmue II (the Shenhua part was pure bliss after the hectic third disc), OoT. I also get that weird overwhelming fuzzyness whenever I hear the Zelda theme on a new game..

Ones that made me feel sick: FFVII, REmake (Lisa) and Deep Fear, due to who the last boss is.

I hate those ones I just mentioned.. I remember not being able to sleep for thinking about them, quite a lot like the first time I saw Seven with that horrible ending..
