I like how he writes it as SONY. Imagine how much hassle that must be to keep capitalising the word SONY. Imagine how many times he must have forgotten and had to go back and fix it?

Watch out guys, if any of you have ever visited Geohots site ever, even out of curiosity to see if it even existed, or just to watch one of his crappy videos, Sony have somehow won the right to obtain your IP address.

A federal judge has ruled this week that Sony can subpoena the Web host for George 'Geohot' Hotz's website, and acquire all the IP addresses of anyone who has visited his ...

Is that magistrate out of his tiny mind? How can there possibly be any justification for that?

edit: From the wired link: "One is to prove the “defendant’s distribution” of the hack. The other involves a jurisdictional argument over whether Sony must sue Hotz in his home state of New Jersey rather than in San Francisco, which Sony would prefer. Sony said the server logs would demonstrate that many of those who downloaded Hotz’s hack reside in Northern California — thus making San Francisco a proper venue for the case."

          LOL!

Sony, not doing themselves any favours are they?

I would imagine that "many" = 0.01% of entire world geography. It would probably prove that they should sue in China or something.

The reason they're going after the logs isn't to sue anyone who looks at them. Its to get proof showing defendants spreading information on how to hack consoles.

One of the key hackers has claimed that Firmware 3.60 has re-secured the PS3

""Oh, before I get flooded: NOT BY ME! I don't really care about breaking the PS3, I'm fine with what we have so far. I will NOT work on it!!" = "I'm scared, but will work on it in private"

Much as I didn't want to drag this thread up again, the latest twists are just too funny not to...

George 'Geohot' Hotz, the hacker behind the well-publicised PlayStation 3 security breach earlier this year, has scarpe…

Puerto Rican police are now looking for a man going by the name of Chico Osvaldo Hótz who apparently looks like this.

He's apparently just there on holiday (although you have to wonder how he can afford that kind of holiday given he was asking people to donate cash to him to fund his legal defense...)

But it's the 'deliberately damaging the hard drives before handing them over' that's going to bite him. If the judge is in the mood, that's a perjury charge right there.

If he plays his cards right somebody will make a film out of his court case and antics. Perhaps that's the plan?

Maybe Jesse Eisenburg can play him
