I simply do not understand how playing Resident Evil 5 with a pointer instead of a standard controller would be in any way better?

I play games to relax and I don't want to sit there pointing something at a screen when I could sit there comfortably with a pad!

Imagine using a mouse when your PC's hooked up to a projector. You know how it always maps 1:1, so if you want to move the pointer across the screen, you have to move the mouse 3 feet? No? Well then.

With similar games using a Wiimote, it's a case of relaxing with my hands in my lap (oo-er), one controlling the nunchuck and the other making small movements of the Wiimote that are then amplified on-screen. In fact, to make '1:1' tracking work for lightgun games, they have to have a calibration section to compensate for the "mouse acceleration". I'm sure the Move will be similar. Motion control doesn't always mean big exaggerated movements.

But I don't like wiggling my hands during a gaming session! I want to sit in comfort with a pad and enjoy the experience. I don't want to have to calibrate things, I just want to spend that valuable time playing.

I actually find it more relaxing playing with Wimote and Nunchuck in games like Metroid and Galaxy than using a pad. Sitting on a bean bag, arms resting at teh side and tiny movements of the wrist. You don't have to have my hands together on my lap - feels more natural.

I am not a fan on prolonged wiimote playing, had about 4 hours on NMH2 when it came out couldn't put it down, unfortunately when I eventually did I had terrible cramps on my left hand, the nunchuck hand because of the shape of it.
1:1 accuracy is good onscreen pointing but your only as 1:1 accurate as your steady hand, unfortunately I have a shaky right hand and pointing at the screen trying to snipe is made 100x worse because of this, steady aim doesn't work
Also where I was getting concerned earlier in the thread was about FPS gaming, Move owners will have a faster reflex naturally than all pad owners thus possibly splitting the online crowd.

Move is basically what Nintendo have with the Wii remote (Motion Plus or not) but better. I played Sports Champions, The Fight, SOCOM 4 and Heavy Rain - all were very easy and simple to play using Move.

SOCOM 4 in particular was surprisingly well done and fun to play using Move. I also thought Heavy Rain was really good with the Move controller set-up, strangely relaxing actually. Sports Champions and The Fight were as you would expect really, simple but fun.

It's nice to see that with Move Sony are also going to deliver some "hardcore" titles whilst trying to draw in some "casual" gamers. The issue with Move is the fact that with some games you have to have two motion controllers, something which could end up being quite costly.

Quite a few shops are taking pre-orders for this and Natal now.
You can buy the PlayStation Eye for less than ?10, usually including a game but I wouldn't be surprised to see shops raising the price moving forwards as the RRP is ?24:99.

Natal seems to be going for around ?125 in shops now so this seems to fit in somewhere between the cost of Natal and the Wii controllers.

Hmmm, 65 notes + the cost of Socom. Who am I kidding? Day one.

                  *looks for things to sell*

I believe that the standard Playstation controller can actually act as the sub controller. So if you've already got the camera, all you need to buy is the Move controller itself with the ball on top. Well, if you don't want to spend the full amount of money that is.

I keep seeing that being mentioned, but I can't for the life of me work out how that's going to be comfortable at all.

There are plenty of people who are well practised at playing their PS3 with only one hand.

The gunshell is going to be sold for $19 by the way, and shops over here are listing it for 15 euros.

Move + Cam is 60 euros. That sounds like a deal, I simply want this Move if only for Heavy Rain. And RE5. And Time Crisis, although it works with guncon 3, the thing is poor and the 2 IR set up is annoying.
