    Just found this:

Bloody hell. What a crock of **** David Yarnton is spouting. Makes my blood boil! Why in the hell aren't people complaining about this? Why aren't there boycotts? Or internet protests? Christ on a bike, the apathy this has received from the world at large is enough to send me into a rage.

        I do hope you're joking? :/

Import. I'll be grabbing a J unit as soon as there is some exclusive content.

It seems our mission has failed and we have to start again.

Pretty funny that Yarnton guy basing his argument on them all being different regions including Australia, but Australia not actually being it's own locked region.... Daftie.

Does this mean the games won't be allowed on sale in airports in case travellers get stung?

            Comment

In the airport shops they will have to make buyers aware of the region lock. Worst case scenario is business man in US traveling back to EU getting his child a console. Gets it back and no games will play.

It's a ludite decision by Nintendo

This and the price drop have made me do a u-turn on getting one,all I want now is a port. of Wave Race 64 as it's still the best true 3d racer I've played.

To be fair, though it'd be nice for the 3DS to be region free, supporters of that feature do tend to overblow the impact it actually has on a format which is in reality very little. Sure someone could unknowingly buy a system or game that doesn't work at home but its true of most systems and people cope fine. Anyone that fussed will just import and generally the rise of online retailers and the competition it has created will mean it's like the old days without the slow posting and super inflated pricing. The only real knock on effect is the difference in release dates for some titles but to be honest, being a handheld, I doubt most people would care enough even then.

It's a shame true, but then it's also a lot of hot air about next to nothing.

Good to see the positive reviews coming in for the launch games. Hopefully it will make the many doubters of the launch line up reconsider their opinions!

Very annoying about nintendo dropping Opera though for, of all things, Netfront! With the power the 3ds is packing it should have been able to handle a very passable competant browser, that's of course that the browser being used is decent in itself! Netfront... NETFRONT!!?

I thought this too - but then looked at the recent version of Netfront on their website.

                      20x faster. Flash support. HTML5.

All I hope is that the 3DS contains a recent version of it!

But similarly, the amount of people importing on region free devices is pretty small too, so why not humour them? We are the hype machine. Things like our Deathsmiles review must help raise the profile for a Euro release. If there were no importers to test the water with, would as many get localised? Difficult to say, but I guess not.

Marketing bumph for all we know unfortunately. They're hardly going to say their product is rubbish. Everytime I've used their browsers they've been horrendous with zero usability.

I suspect they've simply gone with Netfront because they're a Japanese company and feel easier dealing with them rather than them having the best solution.

It'll be the same as the Wii and PS3 for the browser. A stripped back version that merely gets by and as time passes causes the system to crash because they don't offer updates and support

Nintendo has spoken about and demoed 3d movies on the system but as yet nothing firmly announced. I wouldn't be massively confident based on thier past track record with online content.
Nothing about TV content has been announced or even mentioned as far as I'm aware so I smell BS from Mr Game.
To be fair Laurent Fisher mentioned the sports tv content at the Netherlands conference. He stated Nintendo had partnered with Eurosport and Sky to send short form 3d sport videos to the 3DS via spot pass. I think Game/Gamestation missed the "short form" part of his speech ;-)

Three reviews and three 8 out of 10s. I didn't see this coming. If PES 2011 gets a good review launch day will turn out very expensive
