Yep, Puzzle Quest is doing my nut in too!

Finding the complaints about the battery a bit odd. I'm getting 15hrs out of 1 charge. According to the Activity Log, just over 5 of those are gameplay, and the rest sleep mode, with the odd bit of camera use, photo viewing, Puzzle Quest etc thrown in. Got power saving mode on and brightness set to 3, which has improved the picture, can see fine detail better. According to the manual, the battery should last for 3 days in sleep mode. The only problem for me now is the reflective screen, that and having to wait 2 months for Zelda!

Does 'power saving mode' involve not playing it and leaving it on the charger? Because, if so, that's cheating.

I have to say the reflective screen is doing my nut in - it's started getting really sunny on the train on the way to work - how am I supposed to save my little Ghost Recon people when I can't see them!?

Yeah, the screen's really annoying. As soon as the sun comes out, all i can see on it is my own reflection. Great for doing your hair, not so great for handheld gaming. Reminds me of trying to play the GBA.

Power Saving mode auto adjusts the screen's brightness level whilst playing, thus saves the battery. So no, its not cheating! I've been carrying the 3DS around with me pretty much constantly since launch, only time i put it on the charger is when the battery runs out.

The glossy finish is pretty horrible. Any sort of direct ambient light turns it into a mirror.

Some bending on the figures on CVG's part to make it sound like the 3DS is doing worse than it is but none the less, recent events have hit Nintendo's shares hard. Will be curious to see how Sony's are in comparison given the earthquake.

No idea about the app, but you can just open a picture of an AR card in your phone's browser for the same effect.

Cool - just got an email from Nintendo asking me to claim my free AR card t-shirt

yesteryear, mine hasn't turned up and I haven't heard anything from Play-Asia. I've set myself a deadline for next Monday. If it hasn't shown up by then I'm going to get on their case.

I emailed them about my case yesterday and they applied with the usual "send us your address" stuff. Thing is I had it sent to my work address and I'm there pretty much every day so I have seen it if it had arrived.

EDIT: Email back from PA. 3 week internal investigation before I canexpect a replacement to be sent! So, 2 months for a carry case.

Especially when I saw the same cases for sale in HMV in Manchester on Saturday :-/
