I think its hilarious how bad the 3DS is doing, its not even "3D" anyway. The technology just isnt there for it, the amount of times i could be in game or gamestation and the 3DS pop has nobody even interested in it. If they do i hear comments like "not very 3D" or "This is crap." etc etc from the kids who do bother to have a go. BIG flop imo, GF trading her DS lite in on monday for a DSI XL as she despised the 3DS when we first saw one, it didnt work properly and the 3D disappeared the second you didnt get 100 % correct viewing angle.

Regardless of everything else I find the actual 3d of the 3ds to be amazing.

Yeah, there's issues with the 3DS but the 3d not working isn't one of them. (unless you can't physically see it)

Sorry, you are gonna have to explain that one to me...

I think jiggy is trying to say that the device is entirely flat.

The only dissapointing thing I have with the 3D is the viewing angle, it's just that bit too narrow so that the movement of the console when I press a button hard is enough to darken it slightly. Also when playing in bed it's easy to hold the console too close without realising it and losing the 3D.

Other than that, I'm impressed by it, works better than cinema style 3D for me.

There's going to be some new form of Zelda on display at E3

I'd guess a 3DS Zelda but it could just be a Mario anniversery style rom pack

the 3d effect is brilliant, only problem I see with it is they launched before they had enough software ready so the only thing flat is the first few months of software, I believe it will really hit its stride in the next few months and do really well in the xmas run up.

Well all the pictures of it that he looked at on the internet were anyway

The 3D is amazing considering you don't have to use glasses. The launch price however was way too much, and that is the main reason people never bought it in droves. As I say, I only got one as I managed to get one off a mate for ?130, then I bought DOA which is superb. Zelda was the main draw for me though.

Yeah count me in as someone who loves the 3D too.

But the system has had absolutely no momentum and that is a real problem. I believe it can pick up but I actually think it's in a far worse position than had it not launched at all at this point. It's basically a system out there that very few people care about, existing without much presence and now without hype. It can never again be that exciting new system.

That's a major problem for Nintendo. The Wii sold on the hardware promise more than software. People bought it not for games, but for the motion control. Same with the DS. People were buying that in droves before they even knew how the features would be applied to games. In this case, the feature didn't seem to do the business (I don't think the name helped, making it too hard to differentiate from the normal DS).

Great software can, and hopefully will, give the system a real boost. Like Pokemon once did with the Gameboy when it was flagging. But it's not how Nintendo did it with the Wii and the DS, two exceptionally successful systems, and I'd imagine that has them in a bit of a panic. If not, well, it should.

3DS Lite will reignite sales just as DS Lite did for DS.

I wouldn't count it out just yet look at the ps2 its launch line up was aufull and it took ages for decent stuff to come out, most people where just using the thing as a dvd player for the first 6 months.

It was software that sold the ds marrying universal appeal and simple controls made the ds a success. brain training anyone? also don't ignore the pull games like professor layton have Soon the 3ds will be the only place to get the latest versions of games like this.

having a very varied and interesting library of software is what will sell it something it dosent have at the moment, I'm a gamer its all about the games for me I don't care what system there on, slaging something off and saying its a flop two months in reeks of fanboyism.

The difference between the 3DS and the PS2 is that *PS2 games were still selling well at launch even if they weren't all that great*.
