Have DSiWare games always worked out to be this expensive ? (Only have really ever used Japanese points cards and never really thought much about the actual price.)

I was a bit shocked to see games for ?7/10.

I think they've possibly messed up the points conversion. I think what they've done is convert the prices, then added VAT.

Personally thought ?3.60 was expensive, given how basic (and old!) GB games are. How much do the NES games work out to be on the Wii store? I think the GB games should equate to around half their price.

Edit: What the hell is with this having to turn off your machine if it errors when in the shop? Bloody annoying!

Also there are loads more GB games that still play well today than there are Nes games. So the GB games are probably worth more if you think about it that way.

So far only 3. Mario Land, Tennis, and Alleyway.

Im not sure if more are on the the way on friday or if Tuesday is gonna be the update day for the store now.

By the way Mario Land is ?3.60, but the other two are only ?2.70.

People will pay what a game is worth. Simple but true. iPhone games make ?3.60 seem expensive of course. ?1.19 for a newly developed title vs ?3.60 for a 26 year old emulation. On paper it sounds wrong.

It was first announced to arrive late may, then they changed it to June 6, we got the update today: June 7. Microsoft has never done anything like that.

In fairness, late may isn't a fixed date, not like may 24th for example. Also, was june 6th ever a confirmed date for europe? I'm not sure on that one - america yes but I don't remember reading anything about it being worldwide.

Lol fair enough - I actually agree with your last statement 100% so I'll agree, my NES game point was a bit crap.

That said, I still don't think they are worth ?3.60 - I've paid around that for proper PSN games built from scratch and much less for iphone games as FSW says. ?1.99, perhaps even ?2.50 and I may have purchased Mario, but ?3.60 is far too much for something that has no new features whatsoever and is 15-20 or so years old.

I bought all three and gave them a go on the way to work.

My summaries:

Super Mario Land - still ace after all these years - and now built into your console, wherever you go!
Tennis - DAMNED HARD. I never played this back in the day but this game is a real challenge - I'm yet to win a match.
Alleyway - This game is genius. Brilliant simplicity - worth a purchase, I can't wait until the commute how tonight to give this another blast.

Don't get me wrong, they are expensive, but I bought them because I wanted them! ?9 for the lot of them is pricey for certain.

And I warn you - Tennis, despite having a '2 player' option, as an emulated rom, there is no way to play 2 player -_-

Was quite impressed with the Zelda 3D video up on the store, can imagine these 3D videos coming in quite handy as it gives you a better feel for what the game will be like visually compared to viewing media on gaming sites, forums etc

Agreed, they really should of added the option of playing virtual console games in 3D at least, surely it can't be that hard to program an emulator that can tinker with each sprite layer to give it a 3D effect, probably Nintendo knowing they can release 3D editions like Excitebike and charge more for them.

If anyone hasnt figured it out yet you can play the GB games in green and yellow by holding L and R down and then pressing Y.

If you put the brightness on the lowest setting it looks even more authentic.

Well with super Mario,luigis mansion 2,Mario kart,star fox and super smash bros just announced the 3ds is going to pick up lovely
Super Mario 3ds looked brill so did luigi's mansion 2
