I already have at least one GBA, and a few games for it still. Perfect platform for DD content though - personally I'd rather they retrofit the GBA VC to the DSi, but I doubt that's going to happen is it?

that's probably the thing which least interests me, because I have loads of manky old GBA carts lying around already.

Ouch, that price is looking very bad. I am a real handheld junkie but that price is getting to the reconsider purchase point. I paid &#163;300 for an import PSP back in the day but things have changed a lot since those days. I wonder if Nintendo realise the threat from the new Ipod Touch. That 3d screen must be a really expensive component.

I hate playing games on the Apple touch screen products. The lack of buttons means you have to put your fingers all over the screen hampering visibility. Sure, SFIV was fun for half an hour until I got annoyed at not being able to pull off special moves all the time due to the lack of dedicated buttons. the iDevices don't have the software pedigree either which is something that Nintendo have in abundance.

I think the price Nintendo are asking for the 3DS is great considering what it can do and will be able to do going forward. Sure, the 3D camera won't be as good as dedicated 3D cameras but it's great to get people interested in that kind of functionality.

The original PSP was ?179.99 in Blighty when it came out and the DSi XL is ?139.99 so the price, for the tech, isn't too out of line if you use the current conversion of Y25,000 = ?190.

You could, but you'd be wrong. Better to say it can better PS2 quality visuals, at a lower resolution (+3D etc.).

Is that first image cropped though, or is the aspect ratio different? Are they at their native resolutions?

It will be interesting to see what kinda graphics developers push from the system a few years down the line when not using 3D at all
