To be honest the cast of Street Fighter III really didn't gel with me either. I found them quite uninspiring

Theres a lot of designs I'm not too fond of in SF3, but there also is in SF2. A generic sumo wrestler, wow!

As much as I like zangief, hugo is a far more interesting 'character' too.

Surely SF3's designs 'stand out from each other' more so than anything? They all play and look totally different. Sure theres four shotos but they are quite different too, and it wouldn't be SF without shotos.
I would argue that Dudley is inspired by Chris Eubank, but other than that I would agree with this post 100%. It took me some time to gel with SF3 too, but once I did there was no looking back.

I in no way like all of them but the ones I do enjoy playing make up for it, plus I always like farting with the ones I'm useless at, currently playing with makoto a lot more but I'm useless with her for sure.

It will be outsourced to a western developer, contain 72 characters as DLC that are actually on the disc, and will see a Super version ship two weeks later.

To be fair with SFiv I don't think there was any DLC of real relevance except for AE, just costumes, and I'm not even sure that was on disc. Then there were two updates, which I think were annual, so not out of line with other series' (fifa, assassin's creed, COD etc), and to fans at least they were fairly sizeable updates, and both were priced well below full price. I guess they've committed worse crimes with other franchises though.

They're doing nothing this gen that they didn't last gen. Imagine my disappointment when just weeks after I pay full whack for SF2 back on the SNES there's news of a Turbo edition which *zomfg* ALLOWED YOU TO PLAY AS THE BOSSES! When was this "caring about the fans" of which you speak? It certainly hasn't been felt over the past decade or two!

I think with Capcom it was the no save date delete and on disc DLC fiascos.

I wish they would do what they set out to do with Street Fighter III and move on with the lead characters. Have Ryu as a older boss, new main character like Makoto, Sakura, Alex or a new character?

                          Copy Third Strike exactly.

Don't have a problem with on disc DLC myself. I just want two things:

                            1) New cast. I prefered the SF3 cast to SF2 and seeing SF4 just reuse the SF2 lineup to pull on the nostalgia strings put me off a bit, this time round I'd like new designs.

                            2) Hi resolution, 2D graphics. They don't have to copy Blazblue's style to do this, just nice toned down shades and loads of real world locations - I know this won't happen.

How about Capcom just leave it at SSF4AE2012 and just call it a day with the series?

                              Seriously.

I'd like to see them go with a visual style that doesn't completely kill my interest for the series.
