It would be good to see a slim that is reliable & quiet but the only thing im replacing my 360 with is a PS3 Slim.

I wouldn't replace my current 360 with a hardware revision but I've got one of the Jasper Super Elites so it's a lot quieter and hopefully less likely to die than the other's that I've owned.

The noise was a real issue with the other 360s I've owned and it's a lot less of an issue now but it's not once come close to me forgetting the machine is switched on as can happen with my PS3.

I'd like to get a Japanese 360 sometime for the CAVE shooters that will never get a release over here and I'd prefer it to be a slim version if possible. I can't imagine they'd reduce the price for a revised model, they'd more than likely just add extra stuff for the same price.

As to the reliability of a new version, surely it can't be as bad as the big version and I can'd see Microsoft doing anything apart from going out of their way to please customers if they did start dying as rapidly as rapidly as the older versions.

One more "I might buy a Japanese console" here, unless mine breaks of course. We're so far along in this console generation that I can't really muster enthusiasm for spending money on a console until the next generation comes out.

Mine is just under a year old and is also very very quiet when playing a game from the hard drive. With a disc in its stupidly loud but I use the HD-Drive for that sort of thing. My 60GB PS3 is definately louder than my 360!

I'm a "only if mine RRoDed", simply because where my current xbox sits is a perfect size anyway so would seem a bit pointless! I also don't think making it smaller can help the heating issue either.

Only if I could use my current 250gb hdd. I've 3 fat boxes around the house. So having one different wouldn't make sense.

My JP Jasper is quiet as a mouse, and all games are instant loading as all my shmups are under 1GB in size I think.

How close do you folks sit to your console, and how loud do you have the audio when you're playing? I'm curious, because I set about 10 feet away from mine and I have the audio at a reasonable level and the only thing I hear from my launch 60GB US model is the BD access when there's no other audio being output.

if it lighter, might be cheaper to import slim 360 for those magical shooters from Cave and co.

But I am fine as I got red resident evil XBOX which is fine and a 360 in storage (no HDMI)

                    No chance,

Don't think I will purchase any microsoft console on launch ever again due to the dire reliability of mine and my sons over the last few years.

Well, I've used my 360 consoles for about 5 minutes in the past year until Conviction. To be honest having upgraded from a launch 360 to an elite and still not use it makes buying another one rather pointless.

The hard drive thing is rather important.

I have a bedroom and lounge 360 - I don't want to have to buy two more because my hard drive doesn't fit the new bleeders...

I'd like to think that at the very least they'd release some sort of cable adapter. Though knowing MS they'd probably charge you £50 for the thing.
