That's what the email sent out to beta subscribers said, because taking your HDD or gamertag to another machine can prompt it to happen.

What are the changed to the media capabilities? Cos nothing has been said about it since the beginning.

I saw a video that showed some sort of rating system, can you now rate your Mp3s?
How about making play lists of portable devices? Streaming? Do videos with pictures display like nettflix? Or is it a list with thumbnails?

Does it tell your friend what file you?re listening to watching?

I wondered about the NXE Gamertag's use on another console, especially after I got the e-mail that says not to move your storage device, but I can confirm your Gamertag does not prompt for the update on another console, so whatever does is on the storage device hosting the NXE.

I've got two 360s in two different houses and took my Gamertag to the second location on a Memory Unit and tested it last night. In fact, I just remembered I posted about this yeterday:

I was going to download this, but then stopped myself.

Normally, I wouldn't really care about not being able to get online for a few weeks, but then I realised, the Left 4 Dead demo hits on November 11th.

Yeah not really worth it if you can't be online til the 19th especially with Gears of War 2 coming out.

This is an interesting question because if you connect the NXE MU to a non-NXE console then it will try to update it, if the hacked one works the same as the legit one, but being as the console has now been updated with the NXE I'm not sure what would happen if you connect the hard drive because the update flashes the console like previous updates and then installs the NXE to the storage device, so I imagine if you connect the hard drive the console will be looking for files that aren't there because they're on the MU.

Cool, well that settles that then, the missus stays on the 2nd console, and should she swap, i may be going down for manslaughter based on diminished circumstances! for not being allowed to play GOW2!! lol. She will be well versed!! if anyone else can confirm or dismiss this, would be great, as i do like to use the 2nd console from time to time, but want to keep my HDD NXE free!!

I would try it with my Memory Unit but I don't want to risk it installing the NXE on there because I then won't have anything to move my Gamertag on. I know if I connect my MU to my legit NXE console with the HDD attached, as that's where I installed it, it works like normal and lets me move my Gamertag which I can then use on another console without it prompting for the update. I haven't tried connecting my MU without the HDD on though and won't in light of this.

People are either downloading the NXE off the interwebs naughtily and transfering to the system using a memory card or they are part of the official preview program. If they are doing the former then they can't use Live until the 19th and anyone can do that (just google it). If they are doing the latter then the update is only for their box and can't pass on any DL code.

I just downloaded the update but now I can't get on Live I called support who said that it was a pirate copy and they wont support me and the supervisor hung up on me and said nobody will support me and said something about my console being banned but I couldn't hear and he just hung up.
