Yeah, the optimal output thing is only for the HDMI connection.

Hmm, I thought I had a Jasper 360 but apparently not - I don't get the option to move my profile to anything other than the HDD.

Unless it's not done under System Settings > Memory > Hard Drive > Gamer Profiles?

It seems to take an age to sign in at the moment with my profile on the HDD.

I'm not yet convinced by the Optimal Output setting as I tried it and it automatically switched my 360 from 720p to 1080i which is definitely not optimal for games.

I didn't actually try playing a game using that setting and it wouldn't be so bad if it switched to 720p when a game is running.

Seems poorly implemented too, the front screen ads are the US ones so its promoting Bioshock which isn't available and the FAQ says payment by credit card or ms points with points also not being an option. Sloppy
Actually you can pay with points, during the payment option, I think you press Y and it shows MS points value, I tried it afte rreading the FAQ and the MS points value is 2400 per game.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before I saw a piece of Avatat that I fancied.

That Sam Fisher outfit is cool. I've still managed to hold off buying it... for now.

i had 110 mspoints (you know the dregs from there fake currency that you always seem to have hanging about) so i got myself that mummy tokidoki tshirt. The 42 euros it would cost me for the real thing makes it seem like a bargain to me lol

I beg of people to not buy avatar content. Just take a step back and realize what you're buying. It's either a texture or an animation. Rediculous.

                    I concur.

What needs to be taken into consideration, is that even with 'loose change', there are much better things it could be held on for. 400 leftover when added with a new points card, for example; can get you three Arcade titles at 800 a piece.

This is the tired and unfortuantly - by the way things are going - successful attempt at "If there's a market, go for it" approach.

Digital distribution is taking a step in the wrong direction...

A game is just a series of textured animations if you want to reduce it to that. A market exists for Avatar personalisation, because many people like to customise their own online virtual spaces. If buying a lightsaber for your Avatar makes you happy, and also brings another layer of one-upmanship to your friends list then who's to say it's a waste of money or not? Playing games in general is a way of wasting time. And as for it being a waste of money - well you can waste your money on a 1000 things you don't really need in the modern world. That's capitalism for you.

I won't be buying any avatar stuff but if others want to then that's their business. Each to their own.

Games can be looked at as a series of textured animations at their most basic level. But you aren't paying up to £4 for just one alone. If you bought enough avatar content to equate to a £40 game. You would still have less animations and textures than what you did if you bought a proper game, which has many more aspects that make it an enjoyable and coherent experience from anywhere to 5-100+ hours. Which I don't think you could say about one animation or texture. Therefore buying avatar content is indeed a waste of money when compared to buying a full video game.

The pleasure is all relative, and subjective, though. For example, you're probably going to get more enjoyment out of spending a few hundred points on a radio controlled warthog, than you are spending £40 on a terrible game. Which in that case would probably make the £40 game a waste of money.

I should have stated a 'good' game. One that to you is enjoyable.

I bought the remote control warthog thingy because:

                                a) I liked it
                                b) I knew my little girl would love it

Seeing her face light up and laugh when she saw it was worth the few quid I spent. Value is completely subjective, regardless of whether it's 'just a texture'.
