I'm not yet convinced by the Optimal Output setting as I tried it and it automatically switched my 360 from 720p to 1080i which is definitely not optimal for games.
I didn't actually try playing a game using that setting and it wouldn't be so bad if it switched to 720p when a game is running.

Sloppy

What needs to be taken into consideration, is that even with 'loose change', there are much better things it could be held on for. 400 leftover when added with a new points card, for example; can get you three Arcade titles at 800 a piece.
This is the tired and unfortuantly - by the way things are going - successful attempt at "If there's a market, go for it" approach.
Digital distribution is taking a step in the wrong direction...

Playing games in general is a way of wasting time. And as for it being a waste of money - well you can waste your money on a 1000 things you don't really need in the modern world. That's capitalism for you.

The pleasure is all relative, and subjective, though. For example, you're probably going to get more enjoyment out of spending a few hundred points on a radio controlled warthog, than you are spending £40 on a terrible game. Which in that case would probably make the £40 game a waste of money.
