I have a passion for WHUPPIN ANTS, for sure.

If there's grinding achievements then I'll be on the co-op mission a lot!

Looks like your wish came true, that's a LOT of grinding to do.

Thing is, if it's as much fun on co-op as Left 4 Dead 2, then it'll be a pleasure replaying the levels and you should get some of these achievements without really trying. Even so, 10000 ants, spiders and gunships? Yikes!

Easy, mate. EASY. Good achievements, just what the doctor ordered. No contrived ****e, just whupping-based rewards.

Apparently, one of the secret achievements is SKANK RMOXON.

Can't make up my mind on this one. All the enemy designs are quite cohesive, and I much preferred the bananas randomness of the old enemies. That said, it's more EDF and it certainly looks worthy of the name in some of the key areas.

One important thing though: Needs. More. Ants.

Looks like proper flying bugs are back. You're right, though, there's still a lack of madness going on, and the art style is very bland. Dull greys and whatnot, and the general arty texture designs of the enemies look too technology-based. The second game struck a lovely balance between tech (ufos, walkers, etc) and proper organic (ants, spiders, centipede, godzillas). I really miss the proper (non-cyborg) Godzillas

The videos so far seem to suggest an entertaining blast, but nothing truly exhilarating, like you got in the old games.

It seems to me that this one is all about organic creatures. Maybe the proper Sandlot one will have all the robots and what not?

No, dumb-bell, I mean that many of the insects have a silver shine to them, almost like they're metallic, and have a red light on them. Look at the mantis (which seems to be firing energy bolts) and the flying ants. Even the damn normal ants have a red light. They don't look particularly organic, even if they're meant to be. Too drab, dark, and those goddamn ants don't look like proper ants. The wasp is about the most colourful enemy knocking about, and looks properly organic.

                          In other news:

The game has a campaign remix mode. Choose the latter option and you can replay stages with different waves of enemies.

Looks like it plays like poo, visually poo, sounds like poo and worst of all probably wont even smell like poo

Gutted that this is not out yet.. So I can pop some bugs with the Ott squad already!

                              So...

                              is anybody getting this?

Are you waiting for reviews or just taking the plunge? You can get it for less than ?20 at some places, and it's averaging out at ?25 at most, so it's relatively cheap even if you only get a few hours' worth of play from it.

                              Ten new screenshots.

                              10 minutes of gameplay footage.

I'm taking the plunge. For sub-?20 it seems rude not to. I've bought a cheap PSP charger off eBay to hopefully give me some time to play the portable version of 2 in preparation.
