The XBLA version of SOTN isn't very good though, to be fair. Even the demo seemed to have problems with the audio.

Also, that SF 360 pad is just dreadful. Really awful dpad, definitely not suitable for shmups. The stock 360 dpad is miles better (at least on later 360 pads - eg Jasper onwards, I know the old ones are complete junk).

Wasn't there supposed to be a highly anticipated new pad being released for the 360 soon? The one that has the adjustable analogue sticks. Can't remember what it's called now, but maybe that will have a decent dpad on it.

Doubt it . The fact that the Metal Slugs, Dracula X, REZ, Bangai-O, Ikaruga, Sin and Punishment are either on things like XBLA/VC/PSN or in packs haven't really altered their value (for the console they 1st came out on) I really can't see why it be any different for RSG.

I'm just so glad many will now get to see and play this game and see what the Saturn could really do. Now if only some developer/3rd party would bring RAIZING arcade classics to XBLA and PSN

By the way, the anticipated pad I was referring to was the Razer Onza. Not sure how good/bad to dpad is on it.

To be fair, none of those are as ridiculously overpriced as RSG.

What paying over ?100 for a 16 bit PC-Eng Cdrom 2 game, or over a grand for Metal Slug on the Neo Geo ? . Point is they all still hold their vaule and I see no difference here . Just be glad to see what people think of RSG (well the ones that missed out on it)

Glad it's out next week. Seems like we've been waiting forever for it. Wouldn't surprise me if Microsoft have been sitting on it for 6+ months. Summer of Arcade has been the worst ever IMO, this should have been part of it.

Dracula X hasn't been over a ?100 for some time now. At one point it was selling for closer to ?120 but its value has pretty much halved in recent years. I'd say that its wide availability on other systems has killed its value. Also, while massively overpriced from my POV, the US version Metal Slug AES is actually very rare which makes it valuable for collectors. RSG on the other hand isn't rare at all and I can see it doing a Dracula X when it's on XBLA.

I don't see why people get so hung up on this 'rare' issue, when an item being desirable is also an factor too (that in some cases it's really that rare) . Showcase games (of which there really isn't a better example than RSG imo) will always hold their value really RSG value on E-Bay isn't what it once was (long before it was coming to 360) . I don't agree that wide availability hurts the value anyway - Tales of Vesperia still holds it's value, even though its now on Digital downlaod at a far cheaper price.
People who own the hardware will always like the retail copy I think, and that was bit of a barrier to the PC-Eng ROM2 imo, getting a Saturn was much easier and cheaper

What's great is at last shooter fans that missed out, will at last.... get to play and see what all for the fuss was about and see what the Saturn could do when asked. I only wish CAVE or the like would buy the rights to RAZING games and do a 360 RAZING collection pack or Download

games are similar to other collectable formats. The collector wants the real thing, e.g. Itunes has had zero impact on the value of rare records. Itunes 0.99p - vinyl ? hundreds if not thousands of ?'ss. I have records that sell for small amounts - ?20 to ?100, but have seen the rarest sell for ?25,000 (not a typo)

Back on topic, can't wait for this, had it the Saturn eons ago and played it for many many hours!

Right, today it is. And I am stuck at work. For those of you at home and getting this lets have loads of activity on this thread today?

First question, does it contain the FMV footage from the Saturn release, or is this a straight-up arcade conversion?

Apparently the Arcade mode on the XBLA version includes the FMV from the Saturn version.

over 24 mins of footage - looks just like the saturn version with a bit of polish :-)
