Have been playing an RPG on Steam, and just last night after I finished for the evening I was tabbing through menus and ended up on the game's "Community" tab. First thing posted there was a giant thumbnail for a video with "HOW TO ONE-SHOT THE FINAL BOSS" text on top of what I have to assume was the moment itself in the background. Adding insult to injury, there was another post lower down of an image that someone had handily marked as being a spoiler, meaning I didn't have to immediately see its contents and letting me know that yes, that feature does exist here.

My gaming irk is gaming jerks, and how prominent badly moderated "content" is on every bloody platform.

The Mortal kombat1 expansion is 50 euro ffs for a story expansion and a few characters.....that is mental

Shader caching....it is really starting to get old now, every update every new drivers hell feel like every reboot when i boot up a game waiting on shader compilation....dunno why in the past few years this became a thing but seems every game has it, might need to upgrade my CPU as heard having a good one can help

So i was Thinking of getting King Of Fighters XV as it was on special offer on steam 11:99 I thought not bad ....oh wait it has DLC characters well 16:99 version contains two packs....oh wait there are two packs not in it....so both together that is another 23 euro on top of the 16:99...I think i will wait lol

The whole industry doing their very best to rip people off with dlc, passes, locked features at every turn irks me.

If you just bothered to make your prod actually good in the first place you wouldn’t have to put all these scuming tactics into your games.

I can't help but think this must loose them money. Just like eastyy, when I see BS like that I'll either just walk away or screw he DLC altogether as it's ever worth the price.

It must do in the long term, I mean how many times have friends and family ask you for recommendations for their kids, nephews, friends, and your instant response is something from Sony or Nintendo first party that doesn’t have these practices?

Its a similar issue with Xbox game pass ....while i think its good value often for example Power rangers Battle for the grid you just get the base version and there are loads of characters for dlc

With KOF XV when i added that all together did not feel like much a deal, also i have a feeling at some point they may just release a "complete" version

I'm just gonna say it - I miss the days of them just slapping the word Super on the box and dropping it as an all in one update. With fighters, spending years with one by one DLC fighters is such an interest killer. By the time they're done and everything is included (if it ever is) they have already announced the sequel

Street fighter 6 base game 59.99 Year 1 dlc 29.99 year 2 dlc 29.99 ( though they have Ultimate versions for each pass for 49.99)
Tekken 8 base game 69.99 and the Year 1 pass ( which i could only see as part of the deluxe upgrade ) 39.99
Mortal kombat 1 base game 49.99 Kombat pack 1 29.99, Shang tsung 7.99 and the Khaos Reigns Expansion which has characters and new story 49.99

So basically you are paying either half the price of the full game or near full price of the full game for these DLC for less then 1/4 of the content not to mention all the games i mentioned in this have Battle passes and stuff you can buy with real money in them like costumers, premium currency etc.

Often they will have the base game at a discount and perhaps the first season of content but still it all adds up and to say that price for games have not gone up is a lie just they get you in other ways after paying for the base game

I don't want to take anything away from fighting game fans, the run of titles since SF4 hit has been great, but it still saddens the soul deeply that arcade racers are unable to enjoy a similar resurgence
