Halo: Combat Evolved in hd?

My mates are I all thought the sequals were kind of poor until the fantastic Reach. Loathed Halo 2 and thought number 3 was decent enough in solo and co-op but felt to me like a rehash of the first game, versus was still rubbish though. This remake is pretty much a day one purchase for all of us.

Agreed, apart from the Reach part. Reach is the first Halo game I couldn't be bothered to finish.

This will likely be a day one for me - I haven't played a single player fps that comes close to matching the challenge and balance of the original Halo. Certainly nothing in recent years.

Rumours are abound with Halo 4 Beta on disc access (oh my I am so shocked!) and Halo Reach MP on disc fully with all add-on map packs.

Wouldn't surprise about the Halo 4 beta, even if it is a waste of an ideal Xbox 3 launch title

The Halo 3 beta had a crazy effect on Crackdown's sales and Bulletstorm sold 4 or 5 times more on 360, probably down to the Gears Beta being included.

Well I bought Bulletstorm solely for the game and nothing to do with Gears so nerrrrrrrrrr.

Same here really, it's a bit samey in the end. Will be waiting on a price drop for Gears 3 unless there is a bonkers deal on release day (which sadly there aren't that many of now).

Seems alongside the 6 Classic Maps that ship with CE:HD there will be 6 Classic New Map variants, making it 12 in total (kind of)

Halo's campaign is still the best in the series (or at least most memorable to me, maybe it's nostalgia speaking) so it's great to be able to play through this once again with a friend.

CVG sensationalises the story somewhat but considering the comments are by someone from Saber, their general software quality and that they're working on a reissue of the original Halo which is one of this gens most static franchises during a gen which has such creatively built or styled titles as Journey, Flower, LBP, Bioshock Infinite etc it's complete and utter guff he's talking. 100 block Lego set, 1000 block lego set... you could have a 1,000,000 block lego set but it means nothing if the individuals building the software have no creative vision.

Played a little of the campaign the other day on some laggy LG LCDs. It certainly didn't seem like it was running in 720p but I'll reserve judgement till its running at home.
