To be fair, it takes up to 128MB memory cards storing up to 8 hours of music.

and, the people on this forum is hardly the target demographic, plus cell, erm, mobile phones are sold in a different manner than GBAs.

On the Edge E3 DVD, Shigeru Miyamoto said that a separate mobile phone and game system is preferrable. Dumb. I hardly ever bring my GBA, unless it is a long trip, but I always carry my mobile.

I want one device that does both. But, that is not to say that the N-Gage is the answer.

Nintendo better think of something though as the GBA is stupefyingly underpowered when compared with the PSP, and the N-Gage is a phone as well as a game system which is very convenient, plus Nokia might sell millions via subscription plans and such.

      Very true. Especially this bit:

Nokia are going to sell most of these as phones and very few (IMHO) will be sold as games consoles. But will Nokia say this when they announce sales figures? Hell no.

I doubt anyone will be an n-gage as a phone though, people mainly buy phones based on there asthetics, if features sold phones then everyone would have p800's and the new 3g phones. I think nokia will realise the errors of their ways and then bring out a more refined version, it won't add any new features but will be a lot more smaller and ergonomic.

Nintendo should just release a new SP with built in phone technology or something so that you can just pop in your current SIM card and then away you go, it's not like it'd cost them a fortune or anything.

I believe in Nintendo's GAMES ONLY logic, but I really do think that attitude will lead them to their doom one day. Phone technology is nothing major yet should be taken for granted.

I really do think the next Gameboy will stop us from breathing when we play it. You won't be able to do ANYTHING BUT play games with it.

Like I said, adding phone support to the SP isn't that big a deal really. If they really want to drop the bomb and leave no hope for the PSP they could add decent terrestrial TV support as well.

If anything it guarantees their survival. Whilst Sony and Microsoft are happy to let competing entertainment media take away the game playing audience on their own boxes, Nintendo's games only strategy means that if people are going to be doing something on their box it's playing games. For software publishers, it's a nice thing to know that people are buying games rather than watching movies.

you mean those 'hardcore gamers' that they seem to readily insult at every opportunity?

Because the mods are all too drunk to move it.
