My bad. I meant Rogue but fingers weren't cooperating.

Those little Japanese GC boxes are things of beauty (probably equal faves alongside the Jp GBA boxes) and since I installed the JP/US switched cube I got at work, though Ninty Japan, in my 7 year old son's bedroom I've never played as much Gamecube stuff. I still prefer N64 F-Zero X to GX and, of course, Starfox on the GC isn't really Starfox at all but much prefer the machine to the N64 overall. It's not going anywhere.

The size of the disks the console & the boxes was one of the reasons i really loved the cube. I have more faves for the cube than i ever did for the N64.

I remember my Gamecube mainly from my Phantasy Star Online addiction. Its a great machine, and I still have mine and all the games I bought.

Lets not forget one of the most awesome free games ever, i remember spending hours on multiplayer with this

It was the whole reason for me to get a hacked cable so i could use my gba micro on my cube to play it.

Ws thinkin about playing my Japanese GC the other day. The PS2 has had a run out since I got back to England with Shadow of the Colussus. I should give the GC a go. Love all the Biohazards/Resident Evils Importaku. I only have 0 and 4 on my GC. Was playing 2 and 3 the other day on the PSP. Would love Code Veronica again.

Giftpia! I was always hoping they would translate that. Too bad.

The japanese boxes really are so lovely. Nintendo boxes have always been nice in Japan.

Gamecube was tops, until the 360 came along it was my favourite console of recent years. It had the mainstream games that I could play with my brother, Fifa, Tiger, Madden etc and it had all the other Nintendo magic. I think it was better than the N64 and just reading this thread makes me want to go back and give Metroid Prime another play through.

I must admit to always trying to love the Gamecube. Technically it had everything which should appeal to me and Mario is my favourite series in gaming history. However I never seemed to be able to get over the video out issues on a HDTV, meaning the issues with PAL titles not supporting 480p and the component cable being so hard to come by! A terrible reason to dump all over the poor old GC, but one that I feel actually stopped me from enjoying some crackers the system had.

I played my PAL cube through composite, didn't make me stop loving it! Of course I wasn't even aware of RGB back then. Aha.

Yeah I was a disgruntled, ageing gamer by the time the GC came around and had already had enough of the Megadrive through composite, so didn't give the poor blighter a chance really. An ace unit though, and Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat is one of my all-time faves.

On the contrary, the great support of 480p was what kept me playing when I got a nice new LCD TV in 2004. Especially with in-TV deinterlacing back then (which often made the picture slightly blurry), I really enjoyed the crispness and new lease of life it gave games - especially Super Smash Bros Melee.

It's superficial of me, but I probably played Tales of Symphonia less than I would have otherwise because of its lack of progressive scan output. Fickle...
