Pikmin and F-Zero GX were the highlights on the cube for me. But there were so many great games it's crazy.

Especially me and Family Fry staying up til 4am the night before we were getting the train to go to the ECTS show. We had to be up at 6am to get there in time.

    God Bless Tesco's "Kick"

I fished my switched spice cube out the other day and started playing through Prime 1 again. It's aged really well and the 60fps makes such a change from the most advanced consoles.

Does make me wonder if I should sell all my PAL Wii stuff and grab a US Wii (damn UK GC games not having Progressive scan) so I can have it all in 1 neat little box. Would make it much quicker to fish out the likes of Chibi Robo. Also think that Double Dash was the best Mario Kart. (shocking I know!) Got nothing but fond memories of my Cube. I always preferred it to the PS2 and Xbox though.

I'm the same, I never clicked with the Gamecube for some reason despite loving the N64. Four player Panel de Pon was the highlight of the Cube for me, it's my favourite puzzle game and ended up I think playing it straight for about seven hours one night with my two brothers.

Jesus I think I remember that! Was that the F-Zero GX 'very hard' story mode night? GOD DAMN YOU BLACK BULL! or Hulk:UD demo night
ECTS with Mario Kart Double Dash, on the actual karts?
Couldn't stop watching the Snake Eater trailer.
The aftermath of kick indeed, especially a full size bottle times 2, I lost about 4 stone.
The memories are now making me feel very old

If you softmod a Wii of any region you can force all region GameCube games into progressive scan (as well as obviously being able to play GC games from any region).

I liked the Gamecube a lot, but as I got into it I started to fall out of gaming for a little while...REmake, Super Mario Sunshine and F-Zero GX were all stunning games though, and I've latterly played the unique (and awesome) Donkey Konga Jungle Beat, which is a game which has never really been copied or improved on. Beach Spikers is a banging 4 player game too.

Oh god i remember that year at the ECTS, me & philai blagged our way in with fake registrations Was so cool sitting in those go karts with a screen on the wheel & a wavebird, i accidentally crashed it though as i pressed the soft reset combo on the gamecube pad. Also remember zelda 4 swords been shown & pacman vs, there were women armed with sp's on a belt that had extendable cords so people could croude around like a walking gaming hub hehe.

I did a fake ECTS too, but in 2004. I think that was actually the last ECTS ever, I was a bit too late.

The gamecube was definitely my favourite of the last gen consoles.

I've read quite a bit about the gamecube being one of the black sheep in nintendo's family... but I loved it and thought it had tonnes of amazing games!

I've liked lots of games this gen but I don't think many of them have the layer of polish that lots of gamecube games had.

Oh yeah I remember I called you a C**T in public (which you are!) and most people around me seemed shocked and appalled, I thought **** 'em all!

Was that one where everyone went to gamestats live not realising resi 4 was playable over at ects?

The one where resi 4 was playable was the last ever one i went to, It was truly dire. There was one pod with the demo running & you couldn't get anywhere near it. There was literally nothing else there, we got that bored that we just left & hit up the japanese restaurants instead, that was far more fun

And yes, the first Paper Mario game came out on the N64, but Thousand Year Door on the 'Cube was better!

I remember the cube getting a great workout at the games meets crisprapper used to have. I used to bring along my cube for some 4 player projector screen goodness. Fzero, naruto gekitou ninja taisen, donkey konga, mr driller & loads more. Was always fun with 4 sets of bongos out, ah sadly those days are long gone.
