"Probably Sega will let me make it. I think," said Suzuki, encouragingly.

did his expression look like this at the time?

So... did you explicitly register as DANGEROUS-3 just to highlight your concern for Sega?

Why the Wii ?, It's hardly the platform that saw Open world type games sell well . People said the same about Okami on the Wii and that sold like crap. Better off doing PSN and XBLA High Def downloads (but XBLA limit may get in the way)

I really don't think I trust Sega with the series anymore. I'd rather them leave it alone than tarnish the series
Hear what saying, but other than the Sonic Team (who have got their house in order) AM#2, GE#1 (or what ever the hell the Yakuza team are called) and Val Team haven't put a foot wrong and kept the game quality bar right up there, incredible given the Yakuza Team just have a yearly development slot. AM#2 and Yakuza are more than capable of making a Shenmue III (the modeling quality in Yakuza III and IV is more than good enough) and the story and character design have long been finished

Trouble is the cost and the time it would take to make the game (even if they were to use the Yakuza engine) not much of Shemue III was even modeled for the DC version, never mind now. And there the fact that Shenmue III wouldn't be enough to finish the story, it would take a Shenmue IV to finish off the remaining chapters

I too would take a Shenmue III on 3DS and be pretty damn excited about it! I'd also be ecstatic over a DC release. But I'd also be disappointed that the series was no longer graphically cutting edge.

But I don't think either of these will happen. I heard that Suzuki did an interview recently in which he said if he ever gets to make Shenmue 3 he would want it to be pushing the hardware and up to date graphically speaking. Which is good in a way, just means it limits the formats to PS3/360.

As for the whole PS3/Yakuza thing, I guess Sony would have as much to gain as MS by funding the project in an exclusive deal.. but I guess they would want to know the audience was there. I kinda get the feeling that most DC owners went onto buy an Xbox not a PS2. On a personal note I would hate if that happened as I hate Sony and will never buy anything they make.

They should give 1&2 a HD spit & polish and stick em on LIVE. Then if a company like MS actually made TV commercials for a Shenmue 3 you know it would sell a heck of a lot more than the old games did. As for the Shenmue saga originally being much bigger than 3 games, I think they'd condense the rest into the third game to make sure they could finish the story.

You'd have thought after the Sammy merger Sega would have been able to make this game.

It's interesting to note that the only system Shenmue was ever ported to was the Xbox, I suspect a lot of DC fans prefer Microsoft to Sony, I know i do.

I think it'd make most sense to port it to the Wii, preferably as a trilogy, and maybe port it to the PSP and 3DS as well. They wouldn't need to spend any money updating the graphics then, and any true Shenmue fan would be fine with that!

As long as it gets made, and it's not a smart phone game, then that's the main thing, I'd rather it got made and Sega went bankrupt, than Sega carry on going and never make the one game I actually care about these days, haha.

Your feelings toward = mine toward Microsoft lol.
Indeed, I went from Dreamcast to XBox as you suggested many of us did but their eagerness to abandon that platform is what switched me to Sony.

Shenmue 3 on NGP would be a good compromise. It'd look great on that screen but wouldn't need quite as much fidelity as on a ps3 or 360

If they do it, it'll probably be on everything or it won't be able to make it's dev costs back.

Maybe they could do something similar to what they've done with the meadrive, but with the Dreamcast, and the Shenmue trilogy built in, it'd be a shame if any Shenmue fans couldn't play Shenmue 3 if they actually make it... Though pretty much anything with Shenmue 3 on it would be an instabuy I think!

Just think of the mundanity that he can make you participate in using the power of motion control!
You'll be controlling Ryo for 4 hours at a time in a sweat shop making fake Armani Sunglasses.

Not updating the graphics is one of the reasons I think Shenmue II didn't do great on the X-Box, it looked dated and that never helped with sales , also I really don't get this keep the same engine and somehow that will cost nothing to make. Nothing of Shenmue III has been rendered to any length, even if it were to use DC engine, it would still take a massive team and a few years to render and develop all the new Characters, worlds ECT that would take place in Shenmue III, that alone would still need millions

I would want the game to be leading edge and using the best tech and consoles around, wouldn't want a cutdown version or some half baked follow up. If it were to be made, Make it on the 360 and PS3 and make it cutting edge, or don't bother and just make a CGI film with the ending.

Yeah but the Dreamcast was 4 and it showed in comparison to the Xbox.
