Better than recent versions but the player selection sucks(numerous passes to yourself in coop) and the shot power is pointless. A slight tap of power bar blazes shots over, why ask how much you power you want and then blaze it over?

But that is all by the by if the master league is broken. Me and Prinny live for master league coop.

The game plays quite enjoyably apart from these flaws:

      - The deselection of a controlled player running onto a cross in the box. Countless times, VP has crossed the ball, I've been running onto it on the edge of the six yard box, and the game has deselected me, giving me control of someone else entirely at that key moment.
      - As VP said, stupid, stupid power bar.
      - Terrible system whereby a player under the most innocuous and feeble pressure in the box, when taking a shot, balloons it to an extraordinary height over the bar.
      - Tackling is lousy. I shouldn't have to 'time' a jostle for a foot-in. That move is a dull attempt to be too much of a simulation and loses the fun. From a fair distance away, I can't see when a certain foot is planted in a certain place in order to put a foot-in. It's guesswork. Get rid.
      - Ditch that **** panning camera when approaching the box!

The passing game, when it pays off, is very neat to play. I was enjoying the game despite these flaws until the ML massive wage bill kick in the bollocks.

Granted, 2011 did start the long road back in the right direction, but as hoolak said, it the jitteryness of the gameplay was a major distraction. The running animated was so poor it was laughable - which was a real shame, because the graphics otherwise were stunning (especially on my PC) - the player likenesses are a step above FIFA. Although you can 'fix' it on the PC, the speed of the game needs to be lessened greatly. Way to fast.
Still hope though if Seabass can get back to the glory days. Or a cross of both. If not then the Producer of the Wii version seems to have great ideas, with stamina etc. I know the game is not perfect or quite a way off/different to the PS2 versions but PES 2011 even 2010 are still fun. It has some niggles as mentioned above by Prinnysquad. But every game does.

Prinny & Vanpeebles. You should share you problems on WENB forums if they're game breaking. They have some connections with Konami.

The only connection I'd like with Konami is an upper cut onto seabasses chin

I am primarily a fifa player but picked up the last pes on the cheap. It's ok in my opinion but if fifa had anything as compelling as master league mode is then I think I'd skip pes this year. Though I have only played 2 seasons worth so haven't seen the wage bill nonsense yet. Fifa manager mode is terrible.

The main problem with the FiFA manager mode is that it seems to be designed for just one season of play. As soon as you do things like dip into the transfer market or take note of how little players actualy improve over the years (even ones that have "lots of potential") it becomes apparent that theres been very little effort put into it.

Having said that, virtually every other aspect of the game is light years ahead of PES, so theres still only one football game to buy really.

Was not a fan of the trick system in PES11. Needs to be like the old PES PS2 system.

Can't wait for this as I personally loved PES 2011 and it's still my preferred choice of football game. Manual passing via LB is something I'm hoping FIFA has this year. It just gives you a bit more freedom with your passing and I really miss not having it when playing FIFA online with friends.

I enjoyed it for a while. Did a lot of online ML, but in the end I grew tired of its flaws.

Don't really do footy games but I got pes on wii and really enjoyed it. Being able to control multiple players at once adds a lot to the feeling of control.

That version is unaffected as it's basically the old but faithful PS2 engine with excellent Wii-mote controls. What the fuss is about here is that since moving to this current gen, Konami have found it very difficult to impress on PS3/360. Leaving EA to run away with their crown. I think we're about 5 360/PS3 versions in and it's still pretty poor in comparison. Last years was the first time it stepped in the right direction, but for me, it still had a load of annoying things going on. Maybe they'll tighten it up, but we've been hoping for too long now.

As a PES fan, who played FIFA mostly this year, I have no doubt I'll be giving it a little looksy when the demo comes out.

Ah I see. I'm a noob at footy games. FIFA on 3do was the last one I invested any real time into. I know enough to know that pes held the crown in the last era. Most of my mates played that over FIFA. Wonder why konami were unable to make the transition?
