Yeah, exactly. It's also the reason the series can't fully evolve.

I'm an old dpad die hard on this and even I'll admit it's time to change. For me FIFA opened my eyes with full analog control and even last year PES2011 needed to be played with the stick to gain full control. I don't miss the dpad at all these days... I know I'll get flamed for it but analog is most definitely better and the way it needs to evolve. The dpad is dead.

Dpad will never die as long as they still make Ridge Racer games.

I'm sure plenty of people play Wipeout games with the dpad too.

For the word, i play Pro Evo with the dpad.

I don't see the problem with PES2011/2012 still keeping the dpad option. It needs to keep us dpad dudes happy.

True, it would be more beneficial to use the analog in 2011 onwards, as there is analog dribbling. It's the user's issue not the game.

As of 2011 though, I've started using the analog stick.

Personally, I can wait for FIFA style fluid animation. I just hope all the promises regarding AI movement an refinements are addressed.

Yeah, I can see why Messi wouldn't fit tha- wait, what? Maybe by "moving upwards" they just want someone taller. From this, I conclude that PES 2012's big selling point will be that it comes in a really long DVD box.
