Exactly. And considering the availability of multi-touch screens, I really can't understand Nintendo's decision. If it is a cost cutting measure, it's a pretty silly one. I can't see there being a huge difference in cost between resistive and capacitive multi-touch screens, especially when you're expecting to buy a few million of them. Even if it's a difference of $10 per unit the company should have taken that hit. It would have been worth it to future proof the controller a little more.

I think you just have to compare the touchscreen on the 3DS with the one on the Vita to see that it is not a trivial difference.Comment

You say that, but how many Wii-U games are 720p? Nintendo are late to the HD party, the absolute least they should be managing are full 1080p visuals. I'm completely with you on this. A new console should be showcasing 1080p 60fps right out the gate. I'm kinda referring to the specs. I'm wondering why they haven't achieved this. Maybe down the road they will. Ps3 has managed it a few times and that's 6 year old tech. Its a poor show really. I only want wonderful 101 right now so I'm waiting to see whay happens.Comment

I care about Nintendo getting back to the unbeatable company they used to be. They have a history of using old technology in new ways at a bargain price. They've got ONE of those three factors down pat with the Wii U, and we all know which that is.Comment

Big score from Eurogamer, one thing that seems to becoming apparent regarding the all over the place scores this game is getting, it has to be purely down to the reviewers preference, as in if they like this kind of game and actually get it.Comment

Yeah thats no real surprise about the touch screen, the trouble is people will of compare it to something like an Ipad, what they forget is an Ipad costs more than the console & games. I guess they need to lower their expectations really.
Seems my preorder may be cancelled without me wanting it to. My debit card was cloned a couple of days ago, and shopto will be taking the money off it next friday, don't have a big enough limit on my CC, so if I don't get a new card by then it will be cancelled anyway! Really not happy about that timing.Comment

Yeah but the Ipad isn't expensive because it's made from expensive parts. It's expensive because it's Apple branded and idiots will pay whatever Apple want to charge. It would have been possible for Nintendo to add a multi-touch capable screen to their controller without increasing the price to Ipad-type levels. I imagine they're already making a handsome profit on the controller, seeing as how expensive it is, and the fact that the most valuable part of it is a touch screen that is already old news. Nintendo must be able to manufacture them for next to nothing by now.
