Does ME3 not run at 720P and the 360 scales to 1080P? Bit different than native 1080P.

    Or am I wrong?

Saying that I've got ?200 on a Game giftcard so really it's only ?110!!

If you try to justify it to yourself you shouldn't be doing it, right?
thing is i wasn't going to get one, but it is coming out on my actual birthday and ill be off work anyway...

Well, if you're in town and shopping anyway you might as well pick one up.

Even if it scales it to 1080P, it still beats flat out 720P

If you think there was a trick in the low supply of Wii, I consider you paranoid. No reports indicate anything other than that they had severely underestimated the demand of the machine and had arranged production facilities accordingly. This time the reports are that the tablet itself has caused a much lower yield than what they desired. If the US can only get 1.5 million before the end of the year, you really think the worldwide total will be more than 3 million? I considered myself generous when I gave that estimate. And if you follow me so far, do you not think they can sell 2-3 million units priced at 230 to 300 quids (and the equivalent prices in other markets) before the end of the year? Because if they really are unable to produce more units than that, why should they then price at lower at this point in time? It makes no strategic sense.

And try not to make this personal; this isn't about what I think of the price (as I would still buy it at twice the price), I'm only trying to argue what I think would be the smartest approach for Nintendo. And currently I think they are being pretty wise about it. Prediction: At E3 they will go down to only one SKU, at 32GB available in both colours, and depending on the popularity of Nintendoland, the bundle could ship without it, with a suggested retail price at around 250 quids. At that time the availability will be no problem, so it would be time to price it for the masses.

So what would be your "I won't pay a penny more" price for the Wii-U be then, out of interest, given that the hardware inside of it probably isn't worth its current asking price nevermind double that.

The queue on launch night at my local gamestation that night would indicate they really badly misjudged demand then, kept finding deliveries though only 10-12 or so but suspiciously regular same as when wii fit came out, surely it can't be that hard to make a plastic scale salter manage to make millions without incident so...

With regard to the Wii-U if they really cannot supply the required demand they should delay the whole launch by 3 months in all territories it would at least give them a while longer to get more software out.

It was not personal at all what I said so if you took it that way I'm sorry about that, although I hardly see how you could see it as such but if you did I apologise. It doesn't matter to me what you spend your hard earned on but also try to realise not everyone sees Nintendo in the same light as you, some of us (myself for example) who probably like you have been there since the Super Famicom days have become very jaded at their output and the very cynical nature of they way they extract as much money as possible for very little these days and are a shadow of the company that gave us classics like Lttp, Pilotwings and F-Zero they just seem short on ideas besides the cash cows (Zelda, Mario, Smash, Pikmin) and I don't think they have the 3rd party love due to the fact people only buy Nintendo games on Nintendo systems, the whole thing just screams Dreamcast 2 to me and the way that was viewed at the time (by non buyers)was a light treat to enjoy between XBoxes/Playstations

I'm purposely trying not to read too much about this as I really don't want to want one for a year at least but by the looks of things the price is enough to put me off anyway, shame they couldn't have gotten the basic price to ?200 and the premium to ?250...

The latest episode of Invisible Walls is almost dedicated to the Wii U. Some good points.

Like what? If you're too young for a PS3 or 360 then the Wii-U is a perfect introduction to the world of HD gaming, only 7 years after everyone else? A "Baby's first HD console" if you will, something like what Fisher Price would knock up. Also, you've not mentioned how much you'd be prepared to pay up to for a Wii-U. I'm genuinely intrigued.

                        Yeah, exactly.

Buckled and pre ordered the ZombiU premium pack from Zavvi for 299. I reckon if it werent for Zavvis cheaper prices I would have given it a miss as 300 was my limit but considering you get the Zombi game plus pro controller I think its not a bad price.
I am going to leave off buying any of the cross platform games until Wii U comes out and get them on that I think.

Does anyone know how the freind system works on Wii U? Hope its not like on 3DS cos thats pretty rubbish system to add a new friend.

Anyway I am looking forward to the machine. Intrigued to see how the co-op play works with the second user on the screen pad like in FIFA he can make runs on the touch screen

So preorders at GameStop in the states has sold out within one day, a sellout was expected but not that quickly. What I'm wondering is if wii u is another huge success for Nintendo will third parties make more of an effort with it this time around or will it be another wii situation where they bury their head in the sand and ignore Nintendo while bleeding money making games only for Sony and ms?

Wasn't it more to do with the wiis lack of power and the fact barely any decent third party games sold in decent numbers?? Shovelware Party 5 etc made all the cash

Lack of power was just an excuse, look at games on the ps2 like gt4, metal gear solid 2 & 3, final fantasy etc. No third party game came close to these in terms of graphics or polish. Reason why most third party games sold poorly was because they were shovel ware. The guitar hero games sold best on wii, okami sold more on wii than ps2 as did resi 4
