Or option 3 the people that grew up with those consoles are now in their late 20's-40's now and Nintendo just doesn't grab their attention like it used to. Especially alongside other consoles, PC and mobile devices. Maybe nowadays we have a lot of higher quality product that caters for all audiences.
My plan has been to hold off WiiU til next summer which will of course be a quiet period as usual. Get all those 1st quarter. Ps3 and 360 games out the way then jump oh board. Zombie U does actually look nice but I shall reserve my cash for the everlong list I have, just not enough time in the day god damn.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought of canceling my pre-order myself. The lack of MH at the western release is annoying but hardly surprising, and the price of Japanese unit pre-orders is a little too much for me.

I don't buy that ...

Whilst I agree that as you get older priorities change and lifestyles do as well, which means that you may have less time & money etc, but that's not the reason why the situation is how it is with the WiiU at the moment. This is all on Nintendo's shoulders and they need to get moving if they want it to be a success. Especially with next-gen console just around the corner.

As Dave said I have come through the other side of my 'Preorder' crisis now ... so bring it on.

I would be amazed if either are at ?400+ mark, i think they will both price them same as Wii U, maybe a bit less. I think you need to take into account that the Wii U price is what it is because of the Pad. As long as both Sony and MS keep standard pads this should keep costs down.

Have people forgot that Sony launched the ps3 at ?425 and more recently a handheld for over ?200 alongside Nintendo.
Both new consoles will be over ?399.
People spend more on iPad, yet consoles are always expected to be (?300) cheaper and more powerful.

Thats true in the PS3's case but that was high because of the Blu-ray feature, didnt the Xbox360 launch at ?270 or so? I think they would be crazy in todays climate to launch at ?400+, then again people like you say people buy ipads etc at ?400+ a pop. I guess just depends how much value for money the next gen consoles are. I personally think the Wii U is just a little to pricey at the moment for what you acutally get, apart from the controller its not really state of the art.

I'm not griping about the price, I thinks it fair when compared with the new I pod touch I just paid 249 for which is the minimum now theres no 8 gb model

The WiiU is definitely over price pointed but no way XB3 or PS4 will be 400+. Sure PS3 was but it hurt Sony hard, more likely they'll gun for 300 and try to bump WiiU off. Add in both potentially launching side by side and competition is too fierce. It'll be interesting to see how Ninty handles next Xmas. Positive side is 2013 could be the greatest year in gaming in years :thumbs:

Its not overpriced for such a high tech peice of kit, with a controller with a screen, i imagine when they do sell them alone it will be about ?65 min


ps4 and the next xbox will deffinatly be above that .

Say the controller was 65, you're still paying at least 185's worth for a current gen system with low memory. All it's mostly doing new is streaming locally.It's def over priced but I suspect they're hoping the Wii name will carry enough weight. It's a gamble and not one I'd take after the 3DS fiasco but NSMB sells big with Ninty's main market so it could work.
