Played this after picking it up cheap - it's like an embolism.

Now's the time to pick it up and all the DLC as the game is being Delisted from both PSN and Xbox Live end of this week it starts I think?.

Guess it just wasn't that popular, that said it's not a patch on the previous games in the series.

It's still huge within the fighting game community.

Maybe with the EVO crowd, not any of the pro's I know the game is just to broken and unpatched, infinte jugglers, Doctor Doom's unfixed call in, it's a joke of a game compared to any of the other Capcom X-Men and Marvel game. Real let down as it killed the series, I doubt will see MvC4 any time either due to this not selling well.

The fact Capcom never fully patched it would give a serious hint to how well it sold.

The "EVO crowd" you refer to is comprised of a very large percentage of all of the world's professional fighting game players, so I'm a little confused by your comments. The game is well represented at tournaments, is the first Marvel game to get picked up with any degree of sincerity by the top-tier Japanese players, and it's hugely popular amongst the Twitch viewership too. I've no idea how it sold or whether Capcom view it as a success, but they're definitely aware it has a big following. It's quite clear that you don't rate the game, but that doesn't make it factually bad.

Might be wrong but I think MvC3 sold alright, it was Ultimate that died. Capcom had killed their fighters already with updates, they really need to make a complete fighter then leave alone till the sequel rather than pummelling a title.

Fair enough point, but just because "EVO" players play it alot doesn't make it a good or well designed fighter. People do play and enjoy lots of bad games. The "EVO" players themselves make up a very very small percentage of fighting fan gamers across the world who buy 1 vs 1 games.

MvsC3 core problem was the fighter system was designed for the Wii and while it worked on TvsC it didn't for MvsC3. We went form a excellant flow combo system in Marvel vs Capcom, to a somewhat nerfed system in MvsC 2, MvsC3 nerfed it even more and broke some of the core systems, to repair this they allowed you to just about link every move which just causes infinite combos left right and center, the X system breakes the flow of the fight and there isn't a good counter system to break combo chains. The call in system is open to complete abuse and just ruins the game for everyone (admitly MvsC2 broke the call in system too). The pace of the game, is slower than previous titles and the intros to the fight badly slow up the match flow. To mention but a few of it's flaw it's just broken from the ground up and needs a redesign in many areas to deliver a more enjoyable experience.

It's a real shame that the early vs games had a much better fighting system, the main issue being that most of the original developers had moved on from Capcom and it shows as the team is lacking their experience.

crazytaxinext, right about Capcom milking it, but at the same time all the marvel players I know gave up on MvsC3 in a couple of weeks and I was the only one to buy Ultimate in the hope that it improved the game sadly it didn't.

Just a quick question, Im thinking of buying the DLC pack for this before it gets delisted from PSN but only the VITA version seems to be available, when you select it it does say that if you buy it you'll get the same DLC for the PS3 version for free, was wondering if anyone has actually bought it recently and knows if you can still get the PS3 version.

Also does the Value Pack include the DLC characters or is it just the costumes?

Pretty sure that the PSN PS3 DLC is gone - got delisted on December 19th.

Value Pack includes all costumes/colours but not characters - they were separate DLC.

Well can my question as I bit the bullet and bought the Jill character DLC. You do still get the ps3 version, you just need to go to your download history and select the ps3 one. So if anyone still plays this or wants to get the DLC before it's gone for good better grab it now, DLC is for both vita and ps3 even though it comes up for vita only

Just realised I never got around to playing this. Is it not worth getting? I seem to remember some DLC-related shenanigans.

two dlc characters jill valentine and shuma gorath ...what annoyed me is they were dlc characters in the original marvel vs capcom 3 and they are still dlc characters in ultimate.....that really bugged me and i think you cannot get them anymore.

I enjoyed the game but playing online is really rage inducing as the game is pretty broken and if you come across someone decent (which is common now) if they hit you and start a combo you can often kiss most of your characters energy bar goodbye and all you can do is watch.

This is one combo i captured a while back

Happy to have a play (on xbox 360) with anyone who is a newbie to this - I've barely played it and haven't got a clue

That's really lame that there are characters you simply can't get anymore.
