Daytona USA out now on XBLA / PSN in November

Silly teaser from Sega for what's either going to be Daytona USA or Sega Racing Classic.

Sumo's been itching to have a crack at the license for a long time, so would be a safe guess for the developer

I'd have guess Sumo too, either that or the small studio Sega snapped up a bit back that is made up of remnants from Sega Racing Studio. It's likely just a HD Daytona USA but personally, given it's 10 years since the last one, I'd hope it's some sort of Daytona USA 2011 which has remakes of all the Daytona 1, 2 and 2011 tracks and content

Here's hoping it's a port of the arcade version (or even better, an all-new Daytona!). Sega have a worrying habit of porting their mediocre PC versions of games.

Seems like a no-brainer, I'm surprised it's taken so long.

                Sounds promising

I just hope it's not a quick port of Sega Racing Classic. That game was hideous

Hopefully the Daytona license will remain intact

I can imagine this being hyped by gamers then everyone buying it and playing it for 10 mins.

Sega don't have the Daytona licence anymore, do they? Either way, I recall Sumo desperately wanting to have a crack at it so hopefully they'll pull it off.

Nah, this isn't GTi Club. If there's a proper online multiplayer mode then I'll be playing with friends for quite a bit.

I will wait and see. As good as Daytona was/is, it is certainly lightweight compared to current style arcade racers like PGR and Blur. I can see people getting fed up with the crash model and collision model.

They didn't at one point, which is why they released Sega Racing Classic.

But it's down as "Daytona USA" on the Australian ratings site and SRC had a different soundtrack so it's looking promising.
I hope it's an arcade perfect port and with the greatest respect to Sumo, I hope it's in house. Model 2 ports are not easy.

Really who cares what the name will be . As long as its a perfect port of Model 2 game with it's AI and handling all intact , I couldn't care less what the name is , or the lack of tracks or extra's ECT. A perfect port with On-Line multi player is all I've been wanted since the DC days and with luck that all we'll get.

Even now Daytona USA its one of the best racers ever made
