That's true, but we can't know yet whether we actually are all affected. At the moment the hackings are entirely based on the market for FIFA UT coins on places like eBay. If there's only ten purchases of these coins in a day, only ten accounts will be hacked. They might have everyone's details and are just using them when they need them.

Or they might not. We know basically nothing, the guessing is mostly a waste of time, really.

      ****.

      Me.

MS are actually even more useless than I imagined - and I had a very low opinion of them in the first place.

So.... yes my account was unlocked and I could play online. A little while after I noticed a HUGE problem - all 640 Marketplace items I had purchased (mainly RB songs) were now licensed to the Fake Matt's Xbox. Yes, as standard MS are too ****ing stupid to check this and transfer them back. So I called them AGAIN, and needed to explain to some idiot on the phone three times that no, the recent transfer of licenses wasn't to my "new Xbox" but to the hackers.

Eventually (another couple of weeks) they sort this out. The solution? I have to redownload all those 640 items to be able to use them offline, as I regularly do when having Rock Band parties. And we all know how **** the download interface is.

      Can't get any worse, right?

      Wrong.

Just bought a 2100 point code. Wanted to get Renegade Ops in the sale. Entered the code online - "An error has occurred during the transaction. Please try again later." The same error I got when trying to redeem the 2 months of Live codes MS sent me as compensation. Some Googling later, turns out the issue is a block on purchases because of the hacking on my account.

So the dimwits unlocked my account but did not unlock purchases. I can spend existing points (as I have been doing) but cannot add new ones. I have to call them up again, and it will take another 15 days to sort this.

      Just ****ing incredible.

Quickest way to get all those downloads going again is to view your download history on xbox.com

You can filter it to game addons, which will be pretty quick.

Thanks for that. Yes, definitely better than doing it in RB3 itself (which has an awfully long winded way to get things down ).

My download queue is full now. After some BF3 tonight I'll spend half hour clicking everything, see how fast it goes Thanks for the help Boris. And to think, people say you're Evil...

            Evil? Pfft

Just remember, they won't download whilst you are playing Bf3 though

Yeah that's the idea. My queue already has a few larger downloads to get through - as the hacker purchases are still attached to my account, I figured I may as well download them. Grabbed Enslaved and RE4, have Alan Wake and a few others still downloading. I'm on Virgin so can't hammer it until after Peak Times else they throttle you. So I'll get some BF3 in now then see how quick the 20meg line goes on Live.

              And thank you again

On the last Giant Bomb before their GOTY podcasts they were saying that there is evidence that if you complain loudly enough on Twitter and complain to the Better Business place in the US, you get jumped up the queue to get this sorted.

Well, I was in BF3 with a mate that other day, the two of us in Party Chat, and some German guy jumped in. Didn't recognise his gamertag, but he was in my friend list. Then 2 more people who I had never met before. Turns out these chumps were mates with the guy who temporarily controlled my account and thought they were jumping into a party with him!

A shame they only had a vague grasp of English....

Came to this thread after reading this thread on NeoGAF:

                      Fascinating stuff.

So is this like what happened with Sony, except exponentially worse? I haven't heard anyone saying they were trading their 360 in for a PS3 in disgust yet...

Holy crap. That is horrific. Is that site for real?! Amazing. They're all Live accounts, right? That seriously needs to be dealt with.

                          Scary.

Worse than Sony? Depends where the info is coming from. On the plus side no one actually had any money stolen in the Sony hack.

The ****ness that is MS customer services / Fraud Squad is something to behold though. This should be a non issue and never get to this stage.

The blog was featured on Eurogamer, so it's getting some more high profile coverage now...

Yeah high profile coverage is good when someone else does all the legwork, now watch all these high profile game sites push MS for some real answers or throw them some tough questions about it. They will be too scared review hardware and software won't be forthcoming next gen if they do.

More power to her, she just got refund and her account back.

She's not stopping there though or closing the site she wants to hear from people who have been hacked and treated like crap via MS customer service, so that this can be solved and made better for people with issues.
Good luck to her, she has done more in a week than the gaming press has done in months, bravo.
