I wouldn't put Yakuza and GTA in the same genre.

I imagine GTAV will have more incommon with Red Dead Redemption or Max Payne 3 (shooting mechanics) as they are both Rockstar games.

Me neither. Very different games imo. Yakuza shares more in common with Shenmue than GTA.

Immensely psyched about this game, I've loved every GTA - even the much maligned IV (probably my least favourite though). I can't believe the size of the map, but I just hope that the countryside doesn't dwarf the city. San Andreas could feel a bit rural at times which was weird for a GTA.

I too just cannot wait for this, cant believe we are only about 6 months away from playing. I do hope they take a lot from RDR as that was just a fantastic open world environment both in its beauty and in how it actually played.

Some new screens show a bit of the scope of the game:

              Looks frickin' amazing!

A white-trash criminal, a black gangsta from the hood and a retired bank robber family man should provide for an interesting trio of characters.

                Fantastic trailer.

They seem to have lightened the tone and opted for a bit of sillyness over GTA4, Red Dead and the like. Which I like.

The visuals are the nuts considering the supposed scope of the game too.

                2013, man...

That trailer was just fantastic, jesus christ what a game this is going to be. The scope of the world looks just ****ing huge. My mind is seriously blown by the potential of fun this game is going to bring. If that is genuine Xbox/PS3 gameplay, then Rockstar are truly magicians, how the hell can this be done on current gen. I do think 2013 could quite simply be the biggest and best year for gaming yet.

It's looking to me like San Andreas next gen. As much as I loved GTA4, San Andreas was a real sandbox and this looks similar.

Yep, I get a SA vibe from this too. Looks excellent and, if they deliver on this trailer, it's looking like they could be going for much more fun than IV.

                        Re: GTA V

They do it everytime. Never finished a gta game and yet I buy as launch for full price. Trailer looks the nuts. Assuming the pc version will be out long after the console versions?

Considering how long after if took for GTA4 to come to pc probably not until next Autumn. Wonder if Wii U will get a version at some point?

I've played and finished every single GTA game since GTA III (even Chinatown Wars on DS), most at least twice so you might call me a bit of a fan boy. I think I've beaten Vice City about four times, same with GTA IV.

They said no WiiU version is planned at the moment, but hey, you never know.

nice trailer, hopefully this one is actually worth playing!!

The trailer looks great, they always look great. The problem I've always had with GTA is that the real game missions dont play out like any of those cut scenes. As soon as you have control you're almost taken immediately out of the games plot by the weird running, jumping etc I appreciate this is the case with most games but GTA particularly presents itself in trailers like you will be playing/controlling an epic movie since Vice city. Its this promise in the trailers which gets broken after 30 mins of playing that has me returning it.
