Yep. The 3ds' minimal controls map perfectly to the dreamcast controller too.

Shenmue fans still have a dreamcast so launching on that would work too :-)

Real console please! I game in comfort not hunched over a small screen. And yes, I do have a 3DS LL in the house but a game like Shenmue needs a big screen, real quality audio and improved dual analogue controls.

It just needs finishing. No one cares about playing another one. They just want to know how it ends. They could release it for the C64 on emulator.

What if they made it for Dreamcast? I still reckon it'd get funded. They should make it with the visual fidelity of the first two games. That'd be dirt cheap to do these days.

No it wouldn't be; it'd be marginally cheaper. Tools have improved, but not to that degree.

What on the 3DS with its rubbish control lay out like the DC pad and just one stick ? and then people would only moan that SEGA did it on the cheap and the easy way out , its not a true Shenmue game Ect,Ect . If a Shenmue III and IV are ever to be made they need to be made with the same standards of the originals and that means cutting edge graphics on a home console system - so that means PS4 and XBox One.

I disagree. Tools have improved massively as has the power of the pcs used to create assets. Everything has got way better. If you targeted standard definition today shenmue would cost way way less to make than it did back then. I don't really think they should do that though, I was just kidding.

Shenmue cannot be made cutting edge. It will cost too much and sell too little. Could easily be made on 3DS with CCP support or touch screen camera control.

Yep, agree. As much as I love to float inside the fantasy that we'll see a Shenmue 3, even I can't bring myself to believe we would ever see a cutting edge sequel. Never going to happen.

Any game could be made. Why do you think after 15 years, nobody has put the money forward? No one with any real business sense will greenlight it.

Unless Sega shuts him down, a fan is remaking the original game with updated visuals as Shenmue HD
