thats a shame - took 2 days for mine to arrive via DHL

But i already paid the $35 customs fee in with the actual bill, never seen that before and seems to speed things up

pretty much ?20 which would be the parcelforce release fee anyway without customs

looking at the original list of games i wish they had kept the following:

      World Heroes
      Ultimate 11
      Top Player's Golf
      Sengoku
      Samurai Shodown
      The King of Fighters '94

I paid my customs in advance too, but a choose the standard delivery option because I'm tight Parcelforce thankfully aren't holding it to ransom for a change. Just I missed the delivery attempt.

It's just the console BB, none of the joystick or dock and stuff.

I owned a complete MVS collection. Probably 80% of that collection were full kits. A small portion of those titles I never played even once. I personalised nearly all of them into SNK-G rental carts such was my OCD. I've decided against buying a Neo•Geo X. What I've read from opinion here, on the intertron, and largely from N-G.com (where I am a long serving user), has put me off in a big way.

It's a giant waste of an opportunity for me personally. I was really looking forward to it, but it has totally dropped off my radar.
              Kept you waiting, huh?

to be honest i read the first 5 pages of this thread earlier and you seemed the keenest on buying one of these and maybe wanted it more than anybody else which is a shame is hasnt lived upto expectations

but i actually like what tommo/blaze have tried to do with the handheld, docking station and controller - its neat

                  J0e does many silly things.

I certainly was Jason. I'm a big Neo fan (it's how I met you after all). I do hope "they" hack the living daylights out of it, and it ends up being awesome. I'd certainly but one then, but for now my initial anticipation has been dealt a crushing blow.

If the dock is the only way to charge the handheld, how will you be able to do so if you purchase the handheld standalone?

That's just what they've said as a disclaimer, I know for a fact my mate has used a bog standard USB type charger on his.

Yeah, there's no reason why a normal USB charger wouldn't work. Basically all the dock does is act as a passthrough on the 5v.

This is the biggest AES collection i've had, nowhere near Jasons at his peak, but i've been playing NEO since the early nineties and reckon over the few times i've had collections i've probably covered a large percentage of software available for it. Jason's right though, these days I stick purely to the games I know and like.

I've played handhelds that emulate the NEO much better than the X, I own one right now. I'm not knocking people who buy it and are happy with it, if they've forked out the cash and think it's good then fair enough.
How much did the 60 set you back?

I personally think the Neo Geo was something you had to have experience back in the day to truly appreciate it. Being one of the select nutters that spent a ton of money importing the hardware, spending ?200+ for the likes of Nam 1975 or Magician Lord. Totally spending all your months wages on one game you could complete in one sitting. The fact you actually could have an arcade machine in your home back then was pretty amazing though. Definitely a select club lol.

I don't think I would ever go as far to pay a ton of money for the AES originals and hardware now. Emulation just cheapens the already diluted experience further in my opinion. A large majority of the games don't hold up very well these days, many of them didn't hold up back in the day truth be told.

I agree. I remember getting my machine and feeling positively sick once the novelty of last blade had worn off and I realised I couldn't really afford another game!
I sold it peetty quickly and bought some Technics 1210's and a us snes, a far better waste if money.
